What's the applicable term?? "Buyer Beware!!". ;-)

"Caveat emptor" in Latin...

I could respond "Smarty pants" ... but you may take unintended
offence!! ;-P

Just saw this today, sorry.

Actually, you would be right:  It was just a moment's impulse, as I
rememebred the Latin version, which I always liked.

I couldn't remember why I thought it'd be worth posting, though... (How
do you say "smarty pants" in Latin?)

I wouldn't have a clue!! The only Latin I did was in grade six, where we
did one years French/Latin to see if we were any good at languages!! If
not, we were streamed Maths/Sciences.

I did Electronics as a Trade! Not much call for French/Latin there!!

But I think I know: I was somewhat frustrated that nobody had commentd
anything about my Feb.6 post on another thread ("Getting back to 2.49.5,
but for how long ?"), started on Feb.4 by Rubens, since I had expected
there would be people interested in it; guess not...

Re: Blocking spam

2021-02-27 Thread Ray Davison

CC D via support-seamonkey wrote:

How do I block email addresses from unwanted spam. When I get these
emails I hit the spam button but they keep coming back.

In the early days of email, we quickly found that trying to filter spam
would have you constantly in reactive mode.

So I flipped the process. I get a couple hundred messages per day. I
filter the stuff I want to read. When I find I am getting something
from one sender that has me having to dig it out of the junk, and maybe
missing it, I create a filter for it.

So I have a tree of filters and sub-filters that has just grown over
time. And I am able to prioritize how it is organized. So I scan the
tree top to bottom. Whenever a filter gets a new message it sets a
flag, so I only need to open the filters that have flags set.

That leaves the inbox with mostly junk - which I can dispense with
quickly, and all the filters have almost only stuff I want - once in a
while a piece of junk will get into a filter, but it is rare.

And, the stuff I want is in an organized structure. For instance, all
news sources are sub-filters under a news filter, and I can place that
high or low in the tree depending how quickly I want to review it.

Email Password Save Within SM 2.53.6

2021-02-27 Thread Samuel S
Hello all My issue today is that SM 2.53.6 on a Win 10 Pro it will not
save all passwords used in the email function on SM.

I must enter it each time for at least one (1) profile, specifically a
Yahoo mail account.

Any ideas or suggestions to help this?

I have tried in the settings mode for the affected accounts, nothing yet
appears to help in this.

TIA - SS
