I'd recommend youtube-dl - also an independent application. It's command
line - but don't shrink in horror: all you have to type is

   youtube-dl URL

, in the folder you've put youtube-dl.exe in, where URL is the address
of the page containing the video you want, which you can copy and paste
(pasting in a command window: alt-space, E, P).

I recommend this because - despite the name! - it works with _many_
webpages that have video in them, not just YouTube; I've yet to find one
it doesn't work in.

Duracell batteries are prohibited in my house.
They leak and have severely damaged some expensive
electronics that I own.  Energizer and Everready
batteries are okay.


I use low-self-discharge rechargeables most of the time (eneloop, togo,
etc.); however, if I use primary cells, I make sure they're "Alkaline",
but the cheapest I can find (store own-brand, or [for UK users] 7dayshop
are fair value). Provided you get "alkaline" rather than "zinc carbon"
[the latter are often labelled "high power" or similar - avoid!], I've
found very little difference in capacity between them - I'd say no more
than 10-20% variation between the humblest supermarket brand and the
named brands.

I still have Video Downloader professional installed in SeaMonkey, though I 
hardly use it any more.  I have a stand-alone application that gives me more 
choices.

Not an addon but an independent application: ClipGrab from
.  I strongly urge you to download the installer
and then disable your Internet connection before installing ClipGrab.
Otherwise, you are likely to also install some nagware that has been
characterized as malware.  When I update ClipGrab -- or anyother
application -- I always do this.
