For Debian/Ubuntu Linux users, the Flash package was just a script that

and "worked for me", at least as far as listing Flash in Tools>Add-ons 
Manager>Extensions.


You can get a later version (34.x) at  (JS 
required)

but there may be licensing issues, and who knows what Great Internet 
Firewall "compatibility" features. See

Quite some years ago (at least 7 years ago), I installed the FlashBlock
extension in my SeaMonkey.  I set the default to enable FlashBlock.
After Adobe announced the demise of Flash, I paid attention to whether
or not I disabled the extension.

The last Web site using Flash that I visited was the BBC news site, for
which I had to disable FlashBlock.  Sometime in the second half of 2020,
however, I was able to view BBC videos by enabling HTML5 Media (normally
disabled in my configuration) without disabling FlashBlock.  Thereafter,
I did not need to disable FlashBlock, which means I did not need Flash.

I removed Flash from my configuration on that horrible day: 6 January
2021.  I then found many instances of Windows registry entries for Flash
that did not get removed.  I manually removed many of them, but I left
several because I was not sure if they were indeed merely for Flash.  A
week later, I do not miss Flash.

Is your Flashpoint on the same comp or hdd as your SM?
It is my understanding that SM has disabled NPAPI in your SM version.

True but not relevant to OP's problem which concerns SM in the context
of a game archive package that provides appropriate (and not blocked)
players for the formats, such as Flash, that its archived games need.

The first 2 console errors shown are not exceptional.

SM 2.53.5.1 is supposed to support Flash (and no other plugins) via
NPAPI. Perhaps the detection of older Flash versions isn't working
properly?

The Flashpoint site says that Mac OS support is highly experimental.
You might do better to ask there.

My Flash 18 still works great. I have no plans to get rid of it.
In order for Adobe to block it they would need access to my machine(s)
which they will not get.

Adobe doesn't/didn't mediate Flash content, except by the player.

The "block" only applies if you use a version of the Flash player that 
includes a time cut-off in the player code

Older versions do not include such a "block". Also, I'm sure it would be 
possible to spoof the date+time to the player if it was necessary to 
avoid the time cut-off.


Users of permanent beta browsers such as Chrome and non-ESR Firefox may 
well have been updated to a version that disallows any Flash version, 
but that's a separate issue.


OP's problem appears to be that some issue with Flashpoint/Mac OS is 
causing Flashpoint to use her latest and greatest "blocked" player 
instead of it providing and enabling a version suitable for the game she 
is trying to play.

Flash is no longer functional.  Adobe announced last year that Flash
would no longer be maintained or distributed after the end of 2020.
Furthermore, the lastest versions of Flash apparently contain code that
blocks it from working after 11 January 2021 (yesterday).

You should instead be using HTML5 Media.  If that is enabled but the Web
site still asks for Flash, you should notify the site's owner that Flash
is borked, dead, obsolete, etc.



Is this about Flash or is it about Flashpoint Infinity?  The second 
"link" contains the text "Flashpoint Infinity for Mac Beta", a link to 
its site is https://bluemaxima.org/flashpoint/ and that tells you what 
it is for.  Yes it is Flash related, but according to the link:

Both versions are unaffected by the end of support for Flash and other plugins.

Furthermore, the lastest versions of Flash apparently contain code that
blocks it from working after 11 January 2021 (yesterday).

You should instead be using HTML5 Media.  If that is enabled but the Web
site still asks for Flash, you should notify the site's owner that Flash
is borked, dead, obsolete, etc.

Possible Flash issue on Mac?

Hi!

I'm trying to access Flashpoint through SeaMonkey and it used to work fine, but
now it isn't. I get to the point of entering SeaMonkey but it won't use Flash -
I end up with a blank screen except for the Flash "F" inside a box next to an
information "i". When I click it, another tab opens saying, "Secure Connection
Failed. The document contains no data. The page you are trying to view cannot
be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified."
I've tried it with multiple links, all are still active on their original
sites. Nothing, though.

I have macOS Big Sur 11.1 and SeaMonkey 2.53.5.1 - which I've un/reinstalled
multiple times now, along with Flashpoint itself. I've also double checked
everything I know could be an issue. My security and permissions are fine for
allowing everything, all extensions on SeaMonkey were disabled, I've tried Safe
Mode and normal, cleared cookies/cache, etc. I have no idea what it could be.

I tried going to Tools --> Web Development --> Error Console, and received
these three errors, but I don't know what to do with them from here.
