Used Foxit in the pass then switched to Nitro years back when Foxit
has a bug where PDFs displayed blank in SM. I am sure it is fixed now,
but just letting it be known that Nitro is also an option. Adobe
Reader has not "graced" any of my computers in over a decade.

"PDFs displayed blank in SM"
I had just explained how to NOT display INSIDE SM

Maybe we are talking past each other. Yes you can always download, but
sometimes you need to deal with PDFs in the browsers. Example is certain
fill-in forms that will not work downloaded...my state uses such for
doing state taxes. It requires a plugin. I just avoid Adobe, it comes
with too much baggage. Foxit and Nitro with their plugin fit the role
without call the extra junk.

Does anyone else get this?

Don't use it.  Use pdf.js instead:

How do you install this program?

Well, I downloaded the Stable version, then unzipped it, which installed
it in a folder on my computer, and then didn't know what to do with it.

Doesn't look like you can install it in SeaMonkey.

You may use your Adobe Reader to open a pdf ... by following this:

1. Close your Mozilla application.
2. Open the Adobe Reader program and go to the "Edit -> Preferences"
   dialog.
3. Select the "Internet" category and deselect (uncheck) "Display PDF
   in browser".
4. Close Adobe Reader.
5. Open our Mozilla application and view the about:plugins page.

I always hate that a browser do the work of an external program.

I have Foxit-Reader who start when I "open" a pdf file inside my SM program.
