Updates are still not available via Check-for-updates

Thanks to all involved.

Is there a method to install beta versions without interfere with
the stable one ? A "portable" version or a zip file that doesn't make
changes in the windows registry ?

You have to browse into directory and pick the portable version:
https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/seamonkey/releases/2.53.4b1/win64//
Example for En-US:
https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/seamonkey/releases/2.53.4b1/win64/en-US/seamonkey-2.53.4b1.en-US.win64.zip
For fr:
https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/seamonkey/releases/2.53.4b1/win64/fr/seamonkey-2.53.4b1.fr.win64.zip

and so on.

How can I test SeaMonkey 2.53.4 Beta versions without influence to and from my installed SeaMonkey? (was: SeaMonkey 2.53.4 Beta 1 released!)

Is there a method to install beta versions

Hi Andrés,

The most easy way (I always use it) for WINDOWS is:

1. download installer.exe oder .zip
2. Unzip installer.exe or .zip with an installer
   (Do NOT run installer.exe)
3. Launch your installed SeaMonkey
4. Menu ˋTools → Change User Profile → Admministrate Profiles →
Create New User Profile with Name "TestProfile" →
   Change to "TestProfile"ˊ
5. Create a batch file "SeaMonkeyTest.bat" which looks like
 CD C:\
 seamonkey.exe -ProfileManager
6. Double click "SeaMonkeyTest.bat"
» batch will launch your test version with derivation
to Profile Manager, where you should select "TestProfile"

My experience is that the launch of you normal SeaMonkey also will
launch via Profile Manager after you have tested you Beta version (so
that you can switch back to your default User Profile), but to be sure,
you can create a second batch file for your normal SeaMonkey installation.

Tests with Beta will not be 100% independent from your installed
SeaMonkey, some WIN settings (Registry) might still have some control
for the test version. If you want to be 100 % sure you will indeed need
to use a VM. But this solution is VERY easy to do ...

Best use a vm but this beta should be very very stable. It is more or less
release quality.

You could run it in a VM without touching your drive's datas. :)
