Thank you for reporting this! Unfortunately it was [indirectly] caused
by me, and I had to leave before I could notice its bustage. (I work a
full-time job without computer access, minimal e-mail access on a
non-smartphone).

What happened was my website push for our 2.2beta3 release caused errors
in the templating code we use, its root cause is unknown at this time.
This caused some very prominent portions of the website to go down for
3.5-4.5 hours today.

The downtime was particularly long for a few reasons, all of which we
will strive to avoid in future website updates:
* Mozilla IT (who own and operate the server itself) were relatively
away. [USA Holiday Weekend, among some other members of the staff on
vacation/holiday caused the automated checks that report to them to be
delayed in getting noticed]

* I was at work after I pushed the website changes.
* KaiRo who is also capable to handle this stuff from our end was
traveling/away for the weekend.
* Jens who is now the website owner was preparing to leave for a week
long vacation/holiday.

So coupled with IT's delay in noticing, with their unknowns as far as
our templating code/policies/etc. waited on one of our replies on how to
proceed delayed this. Luckily for us all Jens was able to notice the
e-mail ping before leaving and pop on IRC for a bit to assist with
getting the website back into working order.

Because of this, we have not (will not, yet) pushed a news announcement
on the website for the 2.2 beta 3 release (You can still get it at
http://www.seamonkey-project.org/releases/2.2b3 ). And will delay the
official push of 2.2 final until aprox midday Tuesday when Mozilla IT
can be around to monitor and help if things go wrong (gives me a bit
more padding in the release automation anyway).

A BIG THANK YOU for jabba and Jens for their quick action on this issue.

Yep. I'm getting that too, both by selecting the SeaMonkey icon in the
upper-right corner of my browser and by navigating from
http://www.mozilla.org/.
