I note that you didn't mention what kind of bandwidth you have.

If scripts bog down your system, don't run those.

Its due to a script timer internal to the JS engine firing for a script 
taking a long time.


My suggestion: Update to SeaMonkey 2.0 as the js engine is a lot faster, 
and most of those observations will be gone.
