not only with 2,.25 but previous versions as well, not that I think
it's a SM problem.

1. google search page... enter information
2. results displayed on google
3. click on a site for the item/info I need on Amazon.com
4. click back ( should go back to #2) but no
5. goes back to #1.. without any previous info entered, a blank google

seems to ONLY happen when accessing amazon
anyone else have this situation, or understand why it may be happening

1. I am on the google fresh window and i type amazon in the search box
2. Results displayed on a google window
3. I click on the fist link which is: http://www.amazon.com/
4. I click on the BACK button
5. I am on the #2 window showing me the google results.

So i did not have the problem
Windoww7 pro
User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:27.0) Gecko/20100101

I can reproduce the problem. Reload does restore the search results.

User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.7; rv:28.0)

So, you can post a bug using bugzilla - it seems that the bug appeared
after upgrading from 2.24 to 2.25 ...

It happens on Firefox too, I see it on the WinXP (ancient) machine at my
work.

Why don't you just go to amazon.com first? There is a search box right
there on amazon's main page.

Weird. It worked fine for me:

1. Google for book title.
2. Google displays several results, including Wikipedia article for the
book, Goodreads, the author's website and major online bookstores
carrying the book.
3. Click on the link for the book on Amazon.com. Page with the book is
displayed.
4. Click back. Goes to #2, as it should.

I tested it both logged and unlogged on Amazon. I'm never logged on
Google, perhaps it makes a difference?

I've been seeing it as well; can't remember whether it started on v2.24
or 2.25, but it appears to be from any page that you've reached from
Google and go back, the Google page shows nearly totally blank. And
yes, a refresh does restore the page as it was supposed to be.

yes! I see that.

If you click the Reload button, after going back once, it acts like
going back once should have.

maybe it's to make us angry and switch to Chrome browser? IDK.

but that's the trick, click Reload

1) Probably because it's a Google window on an Amazon page, so the
browser returns you to the previous Amazon page (the one with the blank
search window). Does it help to accept Google cookies?

2) If you choose to open links in a new window or tab, then the original
search page stays open. You can do this ad hoc by right-clicking the
link, or set SeaMonkey to do it by default at Edit | Preferences |
Browser | Link Behavior.
