Thanks much for getting back to me and not calling me dumb. :-)
This was my instincts also but not being an expert in this field, I
thought I would ask and see what others thought.

Pat, a long time ago, I was told that the only "dumb" question is the
un-asked question!!

That has guided me for many years!!

Thanks, but that didn't work out so well. It stopped web pages from
displaying.

Er, I will have to wait until after I have asked them to get an answer
on that. ;-)

Hello,

did you ever think about showing web site contents in a SeaMonkey

Information how that can be done (it's simple) and for what that can be
useful you find in the unofficial SeaMonkey blog at

Additional ideas and comments appreciated.

Thanks for the write up!

I always called them panels too (the source code repo is actually
https://github.com/IsaacSchemm/sidebar-add-custom-panel) - but the
English translation of SeaMonkey calls them tabs. That must have been
why I went with Tab in my add-on.

I really hate the modern interface look of most software.
Will stick with 2.26.1 for that reason.

Can you run SM?
Does "Help" appear at the top of the SM window?
If you click it does that produce a drop down that includes "About SM"?
If you click that does it yield the SM version?

That is standard for maybe all apps.

Ray

With Windows, can you not right-click the filename of the application
and get information that way?

Yes, but, you're depending on the writer of the program to include the
information and many do not. FF does so that would work in this case.

Password manager locks up Seamonkey 2.46

2017-02-06 Thread Bob Minchin

As per subject really.

I'm running SM 2.46 which when it checks for updates there are none
reported. (although I see references to 2.48?)

I'm using Win XP SP3 and not proposing to change OS.

Every time I open Password manager it opens with a minimum size new
window and just locks up all SM windows and the only way out is Crtl Alt
Delete.

Rebooting the machine has no effect on the problem.

Any ideas Please

Re: Password manager crashes SeaMonkey

2017-02-06 Thread Frank-Rainer Grahl
So far most problems with a hung data manager (which password manager is a
part of) seem to point to an obsolete and bloated webappsstore.sqlite in your
profile. Please close SeaMonkey and rename (or delet if you are sure you don't
need the data in it) this file. It contains offline website storage. Then
check again.

SeaMonkey v2.45 64-bit

2017-02-06 Thread S Slicer
I am happily using SeaMonkey v2.45 64-bit. This 64-bit version had been
updated to v2.47 and v2.48. However, both v2.47 and v2.48 crash
whenever I try to compose an e-mail, or reply to an e-mail. The only
plug-ins I have are Adobe Flash Player, Silverlight. The only add-on I
have is FireShot which I am not willing to uninstall.

Does anyone know what changed in the newer versions to cause this?

Don't believe it is a SM problem.  I'm
running 2.48 with 13 extensions and no problems that I'm aware

All of those are unofficial builds. I recommend using the official build
from the SeaMonkey Project, which is version 2.46.

Wrong recommendation. Adrians builds are made from the official sources and
any problem his builds have the official one will have too unless there were
fixed in the source tree after the build was done. There is nothing wrong with
using them. The biggest problem is that crashes do not have crash symbols.
