The recorder is no problem.

The JoeCo Blackbox Recorder BBR1MP

24 channel, 24 bit, 96K with excellent mic pre's.

Frequently used on battery powered sound carts here in Hollywood.  The
channels you are not using are shut off, giving you longer battery life.

Why don't you consider to build some 3D version with 12 capsules?

The VR people might be quite interested in such a "simple" HOA mike.
