*Energy and Economic Development Task Force Draft Report Available for
Review and Comment; Public Meeting Scheduled May 18*

The Draft Report of the Tompkins County Energy and Economic Development
Task Force is now available for public review and comment.

The Task Force is comprised of local business leaders, government
officials, and environmental advocates brought together by Tompkins County
Area Development (TCAD) at the request of County Legislature Chair Mike
Lane. The group has studied ways to advance the County’s greenhouse gas
emission goals over the next five years while supporting the growth of jobs
and the economy.

The Task Force Draft Report, which includes six priority recommendations
for action, is posted at the TCAD website at the following link:
http://tcad.org/draft-report-available-for-public-review.

Comments may be submitted electronically through the website; e-mailed to
i...@tcad.org; or mailed to TCAD, Attn: Comments; 401 E. State Street,
Suite 402B, Ithaca, NY 14850.

Comments are due by *Friday, May 27*.

A public input session on the Task Force Draft Report will be held
Wednesday, May 18, 5:30-7:30 p.m., at the Sciencenter, 601 First Street,
Ithaca. Presentation of the report will take place at 6:00 p.m.

The Task Force met 16 times between June 2015 and April 2016. Together,
members learned more about the issues, shared perspectives, brainstormed
ideas, and worked to identify near-term activities that respond effectively
to the challenge of transforming the energy system while maintaining a
vibrant economy.

This report, in conjunction with the Tompkins County Energy Road Map, will
help inform the 2016 update to the Tompkins County Energy Strategy.
