Hi, all –

On Monday, Feb. 26, the county’s Planning, Development, and Environmental
Quality Committee will be considering a *resolution opposing the use of CNG
and/or LNG as solutions in response to the Non-Pipe Alternatives RFP. *

See http://tompkinscountyny.iqm2.com/Citizens/FileOpen.aspx?
Type=1=2935=True for the full agenda. The “Resolution Opposing
the Use of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) or Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) in
Response to New York State Electric and Gas's Non-pipe Alternative Request
for Proposal” is on *p. 24, and the agenda has this measure scheduled for
4:00 (give or take).* Assuming it passes committee the full Legislature
will consider it on March 6.

There’s also a resolution on the agenda opposing the proposed incinerator
in Romulus.

You can speak to the committee during *Public Comment at 3:00*, or if it’s
hard to get there, you can send your comments to the whole legislature by
writing to Cathy Covert at ccov...@tompkins-co.org. I’m copying Anna
Kelles, the chair of this committee.

The meeting is in the Legislature chambers at *121 E. Court St
.,*
entrance off of DeWitt Park. Second floor of the building.

Please share this with others who’d be interested in these resolutions.
Thanks!

Martha

Martha,

Hi. Is the county legislature scheduled to discuss the proposed
incinerator in Romulus? This is a regional issue, and our county would be
downwind from it, so would be directly impacted – along with the
significant increase in diesel truck traffic on our roads. I grew up in
Harrisburg PA – their incinerator has been a disaster – virtually
bankrupting the city – so don’t believe the hype from the developers!
Cornell also needs to weigh in.

Still undecided on congressional race – not yet convinced that any of these
Dems could really challenge Reed. Feel more hopeful about Brindisi next
door.

Thanks,

John
