Re: [Biofuel] [wastewatts] FYI - US commerical production ofdieselmotorcycle to start.

2006-02-03 Thread Evergreen Solutions
Mine was sparking, but delayed and not nearly strong enough, so I was
overloading cylinders and running very rich...popped off the condenser
cover and took out *lots* of rust, started scrubbing to find the
mechanism on the shaft that powered the condenser was covered w/ rust
pockmarks. Cleaned if off pretty well, but decided to check the
"spare" motor...to find out its mechanism was like new, so I just
swapped.

And that's how I almost killed myself...the bike that was about as
fast as that diesel before, all the sudden performed more like a
crotchrocket.

I'm sure I could find cables for you, we've got a local guy who can
get just about anything. He had a clutch cable for my 82 in stock for
goodness sake. The dealer wanted something like $38 plus shipping, he
had it in stock for like $18.

Unfortunately I've never had the opportunity to work on any of the
very-small series of honda bikes. In my lifetime I've had a 72 Peaugot
moped (blew the piston ring, now THERE'S a hard find), 2 of some moped
we were never able to discern the manufacturer of (one was siezed from
the day we got it, the other later lost compression and I didn't have
the desire to mess with it anymore), an 85 or so 250 Rebel
(transmission was in bad shape, sold it), and now this 82 kaw kz440.

Good luck with that though, that should be a very fun bike!

Re: [Biofuel] [wastewatts] FYI - US commerical production ofdieselmotorcycle to start.

2006-02-03 Thread Greg and April
I have an '76 Honda "Trail Blazer" with less than 1000 original miles on it,
that I can't seem to get working.

I and 2 others have worked on it, and none of us have been able to figure
out why I can't get a spark at the plug, unless the wire in the sparkplug
cable has a hidden break ( try and find a replacement sparkplug cable ).
