Mike,
What we have now is a Talibanish group of war making radicals. They are
making war outside in Iraq and Afghanistan and inside, right here in the
USA.
They have declared war on our freedoms with the Patriot Act and warrantless
spying on all Americans. The NLRB is downsizing unions by renaming tradesmen
and nurses as supervisors rather than employees. The NPS and FS are selling
out our parks and forests through privitization or outright selling of
acreage. Also
their funding goes down causing maintenance to get way behind. The
Clear Skies Act allows years of additional pollution at current levels.
Veterans
are being shortchanged as VA hospitals close and health benefits are
reduced.
The war in Iraq is costing $8 billion a month now and puts a huge dent in
needed
social, education, and infrastructure programs. Jobs are being outsourced to
H-1B
visa people or are being sent to India, China, and the PI. And on and on. We
have a bunch of radicals in power who have no regard for the common worker
who is an inconvenience
at best. BushCo says stay the course, support the troops, don't cut and
run, etc. These are meaningless phrases which are repeated over over
until they seem to make sense but
lead us nowhere except into darkness and destruction while the
industrial/military
complex makes hundreds of billions of dollars.
Peace, D. Mindock

No offense, but there is NO such thing as a Republican anymore.

Most of my mother's family is (were) Republicans. They favored:
Small government - keep government OUT of people's lives.
A strong National defense. Currently, our forces are stretched so thin
 Micronesia could invade us.
Fiscal conservatism. We're borrowing 2 billion a day.
A business-friendly climate. Two of the most storied companies in US
history are teetering on the edge of bankruptcy. Sure a LOT of it is
self-inflicted, but, as the head of GM pointed out every carmaker we
compete with has Nationalized Health Care it's not all the problem -
 but it sure would help.
Keep the Government out of State's Right issues - like marriage...nuff
 said.
 Beware foreign entanglements.

Of course, I belonged to NO organized political party - I'm a Democrat.

I used to cross part lines occasionally - but no more - race is too close.

Dear Friend,

Join us this week for the newest episode of Bookcast at www.gop.com. This
week we are speaking with Bush-Cheney '04 and RNC strategist Matthew
Dowd,
as he discusses his brand new book, Applebee's America: How Successful
Political, Business, and Religious Leaders Connect with the New American
Community, which he coauthored with former Clinton Senior Adviser Doug
Sosnik and former AP Political Writer Ron Fournier.

Through years of experience as a strategist to candidates and
corporations,
Dowd has gained a unique perspective on how Americans make their choices;

from which products they buy, to which candidates they vote for, to where

they go to church, he asserts that Americans use their hearts more than
their minds when making these day-to-day decisions. He also offers fresh
insight as to how technology is changing our communities and lifestyles,
and dispels many of the common myths regarding our connections to each
other.

Yup. They're not Republicans. Shhesh, it was Nixon who signed into law
the EPA. The top marginal tax rate is 1972 was 50%.
There are no more Republicans, or damned few.
