Here are some lists of vehicles that are flex-fuel (E85) capable.

This page may also be helpful (how to determine from VIN if vehicle is
flex-fuel).

IIRC, Minnesota has done testing with at least E20 (up to E30 I believe)
on vehicles rated for E10, and experienced no issues.
This statement comes from the North Dakota E85 page:
Currently, auto manufacturers are not identifying E85 vehicles with
logos on the rear or side panels of vehicles, so you could be driving an
E85 vehicle and not know it! If you are, you can be taking advantage of
the $.50 to $.70 less per gallon price that E85 fuel offers. Look for
E85 on the inside or your vehicles fuel door, owner's manual or match
the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)

Unfortunately, in all I have read, I have not found anything about any
Mitsubishi vehicles being rated for E85.

While it isn't quite so much of an effort as successfully making a batch of
bioD (Though I am constantly eliminating variables and I think I'm getting
closer; tracking down an incomplete reaction now I think.), I did just
recently put E85 in my car.
I literally stumbled across the station that carries it in my area, while
coming back from errands; I pulled in to top off my tank while gas was still
cheap, and the pump I pulled up to just happened to have an E85 pump on it
too. So, feeling the responsibility to take the cleaner choice and knowing
my car could probably handle it, I topped off with an Ethanol blend.
Liberating feeling, knowing I was putting something right in my tank for
once.
I'm currently running at about an E30 blend in my tank (I calculated the
percentage when I got home, and spent some time bouncing around on the back
of my car to mix it all up. Got some really funny looks, but I was having
fun so it didn't matter.), and haven't noticed anything bad yet. Granted
I've gone all of fifty miles, but still it's heartening.
I drive an '05 Mitsubishi Lancer ES, regular sedan with a 2.0L I4 and a 5spd
manual. Anyone know if this car is E85 certified, or has Flex Fuel Vehicle
status? I'd love to patronize that station regularly and help support the
more widespread use of E85, but I don't want to tear up my car engine
either. I called the Dealership, but they weren't certain, and said they'd
get back to me on it when they found out. That was three days ago.
So, anyone here know?
Peace
