Yeah, researching the drive systems more, it seems that the Prius system, because it is capable of running from electric alone, could be used this way, whereas the Insight, having the motor just assisting the gasoline motor in accelerating and allowing a smaller engine, can't run on electric alone. So I'm not sure that it would be possible, the way the power transfer is set up in the honda system.
