How true! Part of the challenge stems from the need to pay bills
regularly for all of the "stuff" we accumulate. I'm finding that
without a regular paycheck, living from day to day requires far more
faith and determination. My kudos go out to you for choosing a
different path. I wish you success!

What do you call someone with a home-based business?

Broke.

[Biofuel] quitting corporate america, WAS Let me choose

2006-03-23 Thread Zeke Yewdall
Much better!! Feeling more like a human and less like an automaton.
A few days at the hot springs relaxing doesn't hurt either. Of course
I'm "working" more than I was before, and not actually making any
money yet (giving the credit card a workout...), but that is the
nature of new businesses. And when you get to direct where you are
going, it doesn't seem so much like work. Within a few weeks we
expect to have our first few jobs -- a few kW of photovoltaic systems
going in, and we're working closely with our locally owned hardware
store on selling them as well.

The other partner that I started the new company with has been out of
his corporate engineering job for a year now, and says he is still
recuperating from the experience.Funny how when you are a kid you
want to grow up so you can do what you want, but the majority of us,
when we grow up, have even less choice (or choose to have less choice)
than we did as kids.
