Hi Peter, One possible way would be to load the map data into a Postgis database and use the intersection method of postgis to clip out data. You can use a little script to automate the tiling. I did this once for a client and have a little perl script that does it. If you are interested I could share the code. But you have to set up the Postgis database yourself. Its a interesting thing anyway and free for Linux/Unix/Mac/Windows. Windows even has a nice click and go setup now for installing postgis. If the map data is not in GIS format, but in graphics format (Illustrator, Corel) you could write a macro to do that in Illustrator/Corel.
