RE: [SWCollect] Sierra/Lucas/Tolkien/Ultima/ADD/SSI - info and questions

2004-02-27 Thread Pedro Quaresma

Well that's why I used famous betweeen inverted commas :) I just wanted to point that, as far as I know, KIXX was unique in that regard. Games without copy protection are useful for WHDLoad users.

Besides, it's true that being famous doesn't mean it sells for a lot on eBay. Unless it is auctioned with the label RARE! of course :D

The KIXX re-releases of the Lucasfilm games have very little value. Just
$5-$10 for Maniac Mansion and Zak.

Not 100% true. The Amiga KIXX reedition of Monkey Island is famous because it has no copy protection :) Many KIXX games were sold with no copy protection, which is (was?) imho great.

I'm not sure this is a virus or not, but to properly unsubscribe you need to
send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED], not swcollect.

[SWCollect] SWCollect] Sierra complete software collector's guide - rarities and all

2004-02-27 Thread Jukka Eronen

I've updated my Sierra
action/arcade/educational/progs/adventure- collecting page a lot
recently;includeds f.ex. many On-Line Systems/SierraVision (mini)
coversnot to be seen anywhere else on net:

http://koti.mbnet.fi/psychic/_eng_collecting_sierra3.html

It's probably the most complete list of everything
(software)published by Sierra at the moment in the net but stillit's
still very much incomplete.

Any titles, corrections and pictures; even as
lo-quality as you have;etc. are most welcome.

F.ex. I'm not sure about was Frogger really
released in a Sierra gray box, orwas the picture only a
mock-up.
If someone knows; was it a flip box or one-piece
box?

And these releases aren't clear to me;On-Line
Systems / Sierra On-Line / Sierra On-Line Inc. / Sierra(=what type of cover
logo) and don't know if someversions even exist; the years may or may not be
accurate:

- Bop-A-Pet (??) 1982- Cubeit (?? On-Line
Systems ??) 1982 - End Game (??) 198? - River Patrol (was there a
SierraVision-release? Or only by TigerVision?)- Stunt Flyer (??
On-Line Systems ??) 1980 (this has a 1985 Sierra
On-Line Inc. release, but I saw mention about
something like this kind of release from somewhere)- WallWar (?? On-Line
Systems ??) 1980

You can answer even if you know what type of games
these are.

Was Pest Patrol a
SierraVision-release?

Thanks,- Jukka

[SWCollect] Zork Trilogy

2004-02-27 Thread Freddie Bingham

I guess the Zork
Trilogy is as valuable as the Suspended Mask now

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemitem=3081032440

.. and to think I
only paid maybe $20 for a complete Zork Trilogya fewmonths ago on
eBay and this one had the Zorkmid still in a little baggie.

Re: [SWCollect] Zork Trilogy

2004-02-27 Thread Jukka Eronen

I'm not an expert on Infocom-games and their
rarities(I have a few, like Zork Trilogy too though it's incomplete)but
that's obviously overboard. It only needs two interested bidders at a given
(usually impulsive) moment.

But even that being an exception the eBay-prices for
(wanted) vintage software get crazier (well,
higher) by the day.

I've heard a couple of reports of them exceeding
$100. Never with 8 days still to go on the auction, though. Be
interesting to see if this gets any snipes.
