AW: [swinog] couple of sunrise dsl outages
Sunrise has sayed, one of the two Routers are completly down... I'm wondering that sunrise only has two routers in Switzerland. One in Zürich... it was today down... and one in Lausanne... I think Sunrise has a big problem with the rednunance of their system Only two Possiblety and if one is down, they couldent route all the traffic to the other router... -Ursprüngliche Nachricht- Von: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Auftrag von Thomas Schneider Gesendet: Dienstag, 6. Dezember 2005 09:54 An: swinog@lists.swinog.ch Betreff: [swinog] couple of sunrise dsl outages Good morning we observed already the 4th to 5th major outage of Sunrise DSL lines in different areas of Switzerland since some days. Is someone able to tell what exactly is going on? Hotline is talking about major backbone problems... cheers tom ___ swinog mailing list swinog@lists.swinog.ch http://lists.swinog.ch/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/swinog ___ swinog mailing list swinog@lists.swinog.ch http://lists.swinog.ch/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/swinog

Well - don't know, how many of your read the jobs.ch jobmail, but if you do, you have probably noticed, that sunrise is looking for experienced network engineers for a long time now... I guess, they don't have a technical, but a HR problem ;-) Too bad, their offices are in the totally wrong place (from my point of view (which is of course the middle of nowhere (Säuliamt))) Cheers, Viktor Zitat von Xaver Aerni [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Sunrise has sayed, one of the two Routers are completly down... RE: AW: [swinog] couple of sunrise dsl outages
well, what is the real problem? when i read that only business customers are affected, not private i suppose that swisscom is routing business customers to (one or more) other lns of sunrise. is the interconnection between sunrise and swisscom broken? if yes: normally traffic is rerouted to some redundant system (in this case probably lausanne). is the backbone to lausanne too small? capacity problems? planning faults? dear sunrise, tell us what is happening in detail ,-) everyone would like to learn from mistakes ;-) -steven -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Güntensperger, Robert Sent: Tuesday, December 06, 2005 4:22 PM To: swinog@swinog.ch Subject: RE: AW: [swinog] couple of sunrise dsl outages Thanks for the flowers! As mentioned, implementation cycles at Sunrise take ages these days for a simple BGP4 job ... I know that zero-settlement peering implementation isn't more complicated, except politics, of course ;-P ... anyway, as the problem is at carpet-floor, noone reading here is to blame.
