RE: [swinog] Relay bluewin.ch

uch i see this is the second Problem...
We have send the Mail to bluewin...
The Answer is comming by bluwin...
I don't know how is this possible...
I maked differente tests...
We received some times the wrong Adress...
But we have written bluewin.ch
But i think this is not a problem of our Server... This is a problem by
bluewin.ch

We have send all Mails on the To: Line not CC or BCC:
And by my test I have take only one Adress...

Greetings

This is most definately not a technical problem but rather a human
problem (aka 'typo'). Have a close look at the recipient's domain and
then you'll see that there's missing an 'e'.

I think there is the Problem... With bluewins new Server is buewin.ch and
bluwin.ch not the same...

We have make differentes tests.
The first Test was only with Repay to an E-Mail 2 Week ago... Some of the
costumer by bluewin.ch has as adress bluwin.ch
If you make a replay you received the error MSG...
If you make a coorection to bluewin.ch We don't receive it. I don't know if
till now if the bluewinclient has received the MSG.

I think bluewin must write to their costumer, that they must change the name...

When bluewin.ch and bluwin.ch isn't the same is the errorcode wrong which
bluewin.ch bzw. bluwin.ch is sending. They must send wrong Username. not relay
is not allowed...

I think some costumers you must send to bluewin.ch and some to bluwin.ch
We maked the test. If bluewin.ch is not gone with bluwin.ch is worked...
and when bluwin.ch is not worked then bluewin.ch is worked...

Greetings

X. Aerni

 i've had the same...
i tried to send some invitations to other people. as i'm a friendly user,

when i mailed to each e-mail address separately (in the 'to' field) it has
 been accepted.

Hello folks

One of our MX servers decided to forget about its configured domains after a
crash-and-reboot. It is out of loadbalancing now and being reinstalled. To be
sure, I checked the other MX servers and did not find any that misbehaves like
that.

IIRC couple of months ago, I learned that Bluewin only relays mails sent
from within their own IP-ranges, i.e. you have to be dialled-in/connected
through Bluewin-infrastructure in order to send emails over a Bluewin SMTP
server. I.e. even if you had valid credentials to authenticate against the
SMTP, it still would say relaying not allowed if you came from hispeed
(cablemodem) or any other provider.

was this the case, and if yes, has this ban been lifted ?

Hello Umbi

If I understand your question right, the answer is the following:
There has been a bug that our MX did announced PLAIN as an authentication
method, altough SMTP-Authentication was not allowed on this server farm. This
has been fixed a few months ago.
(SMTP-Auth is only enabled on smtpauth.bluewin.ch for DSL- and (what used to
be) HighWay- customers (ie. those having a Classic or Gold Package.)

Alain
