Re: [swinog] REQUEST: Off topic
What's the homepage? I am in the US and would love to listen to it :) -raffy PS: Cheers to all Swinogers from the Silicon Valley, where the weather is incredibly nice *g* Good morning all, Desperately I'm searching over months a Internet Provider, that will help us to start a project. I don't know where i can go and ask for, so i try it here on this list, because all other request was declined. If some ISP is interessed in supporting our project, feel free to contact me off-list. I'm also sorry, that i send such a request here on the list, but i think perhaps it can help ? What project is it ? We wanna start a shoutcast DJ Mixes Stream Radio Programm in Switzerland. All Peoples can listen for free Deejay Mixes from the biggest Clubs in Switzerlandy played on the Weekend. The Honmepage is already created. The Shoutcast Server located in USA was already found. What do we need ? As we are not able to start our project, without paying the IFPI Annual Fee, we need a sponsor, who can help us regarding this payment. What is the gain of the Sponsors ? The Logo of the exclusive ISP Sponsor will be on a Newsletter (~ 24'000 Persons)and on our Homepage. All Flyers who goes around about our Project, will have also the Logo presented on the flyer. On the Media, the Provider will also be announced. Who are we ? We are a non-profit Organisation of 3 guys, who think this project can have a big issue in Switzerland and perhaps all over the world. We will give the possibility for Newscomers to put their mixes on our Server. The Service will be free, but need a registration of the listener. One more time i will aplogize for any inconvenience this Mail has caused (Sorry). Re: [swinog] Mass mailing: how to do it nicely?
There are so many people around (network experts, ISP abuse officiers, mta/(djb)dns specialists, students, etc): I belive there is the potential to build something interesting And this could be a good topic for a Semesterarbeit/Diplomarbeit if there are some FH/ETH teachers reading... Not a teacher, not at ETH either (not anymore). But I am sure that I know someone who is interested in having a student working on this. Let me know if you want to pursue! -raffy -- Raffael Marty Senior Security Engineer @ ArcSight Inc. -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] Maillist-Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/swinog%40swinog.ch/
Re: R: [swinog] MX Swissonline Down?
Well, the first comment about a LoadBalancer to get high-availability is not really a solution: What happens if the router or switch or whatever goes down? So co-locate please! Secondly, what about this: - Transcript of session follows - while talking to mx.hispeed.ch.: DATA 550 5.7.1 [EMAIL PROTECTED]... Fix reverse DNS for 217.118.195.58 or use your ISPs mail server I have a reverse entry for my 217.xxx ... [swinog] PostCard from SWINOG #7
Hey everyone! Thanks a lot for the postcard from Bern! I really really enjoyed gettingit in the mail the other day! Life here in the SiliconValley is not so bad. What frustrates me thoughis the slow Internet I have. I can barely get DSL at home because I amtoo far away from the next CO. In numbers: I moved from being 10 meters away from the ISP in Zurich (100MBit) to 3 kilometers in the SiliconValley (168KBit). Isn't that ironic? Thanks again for the postcard! You guys rock! RE: [swinog] Providers holiday horror... New Swiss gamling law
Hang on a second: - d. als Zugangsvermittler (Provider) nicht bewilligte Spiele nach -diesem Gesetz vermittelt. It sais mediate!! What exactly does this mean? Is it that a provider has special advertisement for it? Or does this really include just letting that traffic through???
