Re: [sympy] GSoC 14: Tensor Core

Hi Charlie,

I'm also in the East Bay (and a fellow Cal triple major alumnus). When you
get closer to application writing time I'd be happy to chat if you like.

Best,
-Matt

 Hello,

I'm Charles Paul, a junior math, physics, and statistics student at UC
Berkeley. I'm interested in doing the Tensor Core project for GSoC. As a
math and physics student, I use a lot of linear algebra in most of my
classes, and would find better support for them personally useful (I
currently have a very clumsy wrapper for solve I use with NumPy arrays).
Other than the standard physics fare and a couple semesters of linear
algebra, I've also taken differential geometry. In addition to introducing
myself, I have a few questions prior to writing my proposal.

Firstly, what is the status on SymPy's tensors compared to the Linear
Algebra Vision document linked from the idea page? I see that there is a
relatively recent tensor module (the aforementioned document is a couple
years old). It looks like it isn't comprehensive, but I thought that I
would check, as suggested on the GSoC page.

Also, I'd like to check the status of the Google Code and Github issues
pages. Is one preferred and takes precedence over the other, or are they
 both used simultaneously?

 Thank you,

 Charles Paul

Look into sympy/tensor directory. What's in there is the current status.

We are in the process of moving to github. So just use github issues
for new issues.
