[Tails-dev] [internal]1st week post-release help desk report
Hi ! a lot of users were affected by https://tails.boum.org/news/version_3.0/#known-issues we've got a few reports of users having trouble with nividia (mostly geforce 970) workarounded by adding nouveau.modeset=0 (likely #11831, but they didn't seem affected with tails 2.*) 2 users affected by https://labs.riseup.net/code/issues/12543 were asked to provide the info needed a few users having trouble with dual monitors (#12730) 2 users reported that virtualbox shared folders does not work anymore #12724 and several users reported that installing by cloning "didn't worked" (the window shut down and tails is not installed), apparently on devices made with UUI. I lack information so I'll try to reproduce before opening a ticket and a user reported that with firefox 55, downloading the IOS with the add-on doesn't work due to a certificate mismatch (I still need to try to reproduce before opening a ticket. I think that's all, cheers. -- -- Our help desk is helping hundreds of Tails users each month. Each user request costs us $6 on average to proceed. [Tails-dev] Debian derivatives census: Debian 9 (stretch) released!
Hi all, I note that some Debian derivatives are based on Debian stable. The Debian release team have recently released Debian 9 (stretch)! https://bits.debian.org/2017/06/stretch-released.html https://www.debian.org/News/2017/20170617 https://lists.debian.org/msgid-search/20170618064919.zthnb6wxbfo4a...@powdarrmonkey.net This means that if you have not already started, you will need to start the migration of your stable release to be based on Debian 9 (stretch) instead the current base of Debian jessie/etc. Once you have switched to stretch, please update your census page to reflect that if needed. Debian releases receive security updates for one year after the release of the next version so you have some time to migrate your users before you will need to provide your own security support. In addition, the Debian LTS team provides limited support for a longer period afterwards. https://www.debian.org/security/ https://wiki.debian.org/LTS If you have already migrated your distribution to the new version, now is a great time to start work on integrating your changes back into Debian. If your team does not include any Debian developers, please take a look at the mentors and bug reporting web pages. https://mentors.debian.net/intro-maintainers https://www.debian.org/Bugs/Reporting https://wiki.debian.org/how-can-i-help Please direct any questions you have to the derivatives list or IRC channel. We strongly encourage you to join both of these. https://lists.debian.org/debian-derivatives ircs://irc.oftc.net/debian-derivatives -- bye, pabs https://wiki.debian.org/PaulWise signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part ___ Tails-dev mailing list Tails-dev@boum.org https://mailman.boum.org/listinfo/tails-dev To unsubscribe from this list, send an empty email to tails-dev-unsubscr...@boum.org.
[Tails-dev] [review'n'merge] update links
Hello, I made a branch to update some links in the website (and update the Debian version in the Features page). Please review and merge. [Tails-dev] Hidden part of FAQ
Hello, the FAQ have two commented paragraphs at the end since a long time. What is the interest to keep it? That create extra useless work for translation. For exemple, they're translated into farsi. Are you agree to remove that part of the page? Cheers. xin signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature ___ Tails-dev mailing list Tails-dev@boum.org https://mailman.boum.org/listinfo/tails-dev To unsubscribe from this list, send an empty email to tails-dev-unsubscr...@boum.org.
Re: [Tails-dev] Incorrect link anchor in 3.0 release notes
hi, Cody Brownstein: > Changes > New features > Major upgrades to included software > The "migrated automatically" link specifies the anchor "#migrate" > instead of "#migration". > Fixed by attached patch.
