Re: folders in outlook 2016
Hi: Therewas an update to Outlook 2016 and they changed the way you go to the folder list. Best way to get to the list when you're looking through the messages is to hit shift-f6. That'll put you into the folder list you're used to. Hope this helps. RE: WE 9.5 Stopped reading Becky Email
Hi: Thanks for that, though I don't think I'll be using Becky much. It is a paid program, and right now, I'm using WE for Office with Office 365 and outlook does pretty much what I want. Any really neat features that Becky has, though? I might consider it in the future. Thanks! -Original Message- From: Talk [mailto:talk-bounces+joseph.norton=gmail@lists.window-eyes.com] On Behalf Of Steve Jacobson via Talk Sent: Saturday, September 24, 2016 11:06 AM To: 'Window-Eyes Discussion List'Subject: RE: WE 9.5 Stopped reading Becky Email Joseph, If you just installed Becky for the first time, there are some settings in Becky that you need to change for it to work correctly. There is a Knowledge Base article that describes the settings. One of the changes is necessary to use the arrow keys to read messages. I assume that this is not Dave's problem though, although it probably is worth to checking to be sure that settings within becky didn't change. I do notice some issues with Becky, WE 9.5.3 and the Win 10 update, but, they don't seem identical to your own issues. Although I could pull up the list of messages, I also had trouble reading the entire message. I would press Enter on a message and the first page would read, then, silence. Nothing I did could get much of a response. I could read with the mouse keys, though. Anyway, something doesn't seem right here. Sorry I couldn't be more help. -Original Message- From: Talk [mailto:talk-bounces+joseph.norton=gmail@lists.window-eyes.com] On Behalf Of Dave via Talk Sent: Friday, September 23, 2016 11:25 PM To: A I Squared Support Subject: WE 9.5 Stopped reading Becky Email Hello, I too recieved the Windows 10 update, and after it was finished, I have noticed several things different, and that no longer work as they once did. the main issues so far is that my Becky Email program works as it should. I can grab emails sent to me, and I can write and send them. The problem is that WE 9.5 will not read the Body of the Text. When opening an Email, I hear, "Veticle Edit" and then nothing. Moving the Arrows keys read nothing. Moving the Mouse reads nothing. Attempting to read the entire screen reads nothing but the Menus and the Titles of the Emails, but will not read the body of text. I asked someone sighted and the text of the body is on screen, but WE 9.5 will not read it. Does anyone have a suggestion as what I can do to fix this? I am using NVDA to read and write my Emails in Becky until I can figure out or be shown a Fix. Another thing, which has nothing to do with WE 9.5, is when I open my Downlod Folder and I press F10, and arrow down to Send To- I press the Right Arrow, which opens Send To, and then I arrow down, looking for the Flash drive that is plugged into one of the Systems USB ports. There are no drives listed. In fact, this Send To list is much shorter than before the Windows 10 Update. At this point, I do not know if this New Shorter list is the New Imporovments that come with the new Windows 10, or if I have had a slight Update malfunction. Anyone else have this problem? RE: Uninstall And Reinstall Windoweyes process
Thanks Chris: That is a very good resource. I think I saved my installation but that group of files looks like the correct versioning for 2016 for, at least, the uninstaller. The one I found googling was from 2011 - outdated indeed. Thanks again and I am saving that file url! I tried using the add feature of we to load some of the existing scripts and it looked like they were added but they still did not seem to work, outlook for example will not allow me to type anything into the subject box for a e-mail. I am guessing that we will need a complete uninstall to get rid of all existing settings and other files and an uninstall of everything we related but the uninstall program I found online looks many years outdated. What is the correct process to completely remove we and then reinstall it for my we office 365 platform with all the correct files, folders and settings? PS: JAWS was not impacted by the windows upgrade so I don't know why we would have been trashed but it sure seems like this is the case. RE: WE 9.5 Stopped reading Becky Email
Hi Casey, Becky reads just fine if you follow the steps in the KB article: http://www.gwmicro.com/Support/Knowledge_Base/?kbnumber=GWKB2061 You can close a thred by pressing left arrow a few times and then deleting it. This will delete all emails in a thred. Unlike Thunderbird, Becky uses a cursor, it doesn't display emails in an html viewer requiring browse mode. So the issue with repeating the first line is not in Becky. Note: Read-To-End doesn't work in Becky the last time I tried. I think I created some set files that read with page up and down instead. Are you A Becky user? If so can you group messages by conversation so that you can delete A thread of messages if you don't want to read A certain subject? And then you don't have to delete messages one by one in A certain topic that you don't want to read. Also if you are using Becky do you use it with window-eyes and the latest version of window-eyes? If so when you open an e-mail does it start reading and then repete like us that are using Thunderbird are having to deal with currently? The fix for Thunderbird is to first open Thunderbird when window-eyes is running. Then open Thunderbird. After you do that. Then we start window-eyes. We shouldn't have to do that to get that problem to stop. Yes it solves the problem for A while. But you have eventually go back in and do it again. I wish someone that works with window-eyes at a squared would fix this and not just tell us. That they are not having this issue or they can't reproduce this. That gets so old hearing that all of the time. So please can this issue please be addressed and taken of. -- Casey ___ Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared. Getting Scripts Back
Hi and Thanks Guys: OK, I am downloading the missing scripts one at a time and they are installing and being registered in Script Manager. It looks like I may not have to ReInstall Windoweyes if my luck holds. A request to the staff would be to write a script to Reload all the Windoweyes engine and functional scripts with a single keystroke - easy peasy for them to do and would save allot of trouble for clients. A simple Reinstaller maintaining serial number and any authorized paid downloads would also be nice me thinks and should be put out for each new release of Windoweyes. Later and sorry for hitting you over the weekend with questions but that is when the Gods seemingly like to poke us for a grin or 2 and they don't care about football season I guess - smile.
