RE: major issues with Window eyes 9.5.4
In the general> startup options dialog of the Window-Eyes control panel, there are 3 radio buttons one tab after the set global options button. Tab to those radio buttons and choose the second radio button: after logging in, run Window-Eyes always. Save your settings and see if that works. -Original Message- From: Talk [mailto:talk-bounces+fenderwal=sbcglobal@lists.window-eyes.com] On Behalf Of Stephen Clark via Talk Sent: Saturday, April 15, 2017 1:35 PM To: Bill Holton; Window-Eyes Discussion List Subject: Re: major issues with Window eyes 9.5.4 Hahahaha. RE: Alternative to Eset
I think part of the question -- and I have the same question -- is not only what programs are accessible but what programs are accessible and do a good job finding viruses. The reason a lot of us went with Nod-32 is that it was not only accessible in the day it also had an excellent reputation as a virus checker. -Original Message- From: Talk [mailto:talk-bounces+realman02=verizon@lists.window-eyes.com] On Behalf Of Stephen Clark via Talk Sent: Saturday, April 15, 2017 2:38 PM To: Samuel Wilkins; Window-Eyes Discussion List Subject: Re: Alternative to Eset Why not just use Windows Defender. Thank you all for your suggestions, I will definitely consider them. On 15/04/2017 02:02, Brenda via Talk wrote: I hear Sophos Home works well with window-eyes and is free for up to 10 users. I guess it runs like a web page. there are folks on the blindtech and this list that use it. You have to go to their website to download it. I prefer something that I load to my pc from disk so I chose Vipre. They have US based tech support and will help you with issues. Also, they at least know what screen readers are. The really good deal I got from HSN helped me make my final decision. I hear some jaws and NVDA users have some success using vipre and I have "sighted assistance" if I have issues. One person said it made his fan run alot, but noone else has said that. I have been trying to find an accessible antivirus/security program lately, and this is all I can tell you. hth Brenda On 4/14/2017 4:16 PM, Samuel Wilkins via Talk wrote: Hello everyone, My Eset license is about to expire, and I was wondering if there is a more accessible solution. Why not just use Windows Defender. It's free and comes integrated with Windows. Very accessible.
