Re: typing passwords with jaws
and why do home bodies need this? there's no one here to see the passwords. so why can't i turn the stars off like window eyes can? i only have 3 tries before i am locked out of my accounts. and some of them will only unlock my accounts by sending me a unlock code by mail. not by email. so i could be locked out for weeks. i have to use window eyes for passwords. or type them in note pad and copy and paste them into the password fields. we should have the choice to speak or not speak the keys you press in the password fields. my requests to f/s just falls on deaf ears. they have not responded to any of my jaws questions to date. -Original Message- From: Dennis Long via Talk Sent: Friday, November 17, 2017 9:35 PM To: 'Window-Eyes Discussion List' Cc: Dennis Long Subject: RE: typing passwords with jaws It's done this way for security. Re: typing passwords with jaws
w e is the only screen reader i know of that can turn off the stars. open the w e control panel, go to verbocity,, common, miscellanious. in there is the option to turn off the stars. *** i have asked f/s several times to give us the same option and this has fallen on deaf ears. i am sick and tired of haveing to type the passwords in note pad and copy and pasteing it in the password fields. so i load w e when i have to type in passwords. -Original Message- From: Nick Sarames via Talk Sent: Friday, November 17, 2017 5:02 PM To: Window-Eyes Discussion List Cc: Nick Sarames Subject: Re: typing passwords with jaws WE does the same thing, and as much as I don't like not knowing what I am typing, I like the security of knowing I am typing my password in the correct field. Hi David, Can you please explain what you mean by the term refresh your PC? Thanks, Rod -Original Message- From: Talk [mailto:talk-bounces+rod_hutton=hotmail@lists.window-eyes.com] On Behalf Of David Moore via Talk Sent: November 17, 2017 5:25 AM To: Window-Eyes Discussion ListCc: David Moore Subject: RE: question about upgrading win ten. I sure did do just that! I have a 32 Gig SSD drive. I upgraded to 1709 with 8 Gig available on the drive. If you do not have that much room available, you can uninstall all programs you have installed, or do a refresh of your PC, which will reinstall Windows and get rid of all of the junk on the drive Make sure that you back up everything that you have saved on the drive, and save all installation files for your programs, so you can reinstall them after you upgrade to 1709.
