Re: bypassing windows 10 logon screen

2016-02-29 Thread Isaac via Talk

start a command prompt as admin
then type net user followed by your username and then *
so if your user name is administrator the command would be
net user administrator *
then when it says enter password, you enter nothing and hit return twice,
you will now not have a user password.

Note this only works in local accounts

Admitedly, I don't have Windows 10, but often when my computer wakes up, I
am presented with the log-in screen. I never enter the password; all I do
is press the Submit button, and I'm at the desktop.

Maybe this will work for you.

Peace.

Ever since I updated my computer to Windows 10, my Brailliant BI 40 has
stopped working. I finally called Humanware support, only to find out
that
they don't have a driver yet for Windows 10. I find this very
frustrating,

since Windows 10 has been out since July. Window-Eyes still clears the
display to blank when loading, but no braille ever gets displayed. If you
use this display and having braille is important to you, don't upgrade to
Windows 10 yet. Unfortunately, the Humanware support person could not
tell

me when a driver might be ready.

This failure on Humanware's part is frustrating and makes me very much
appreciate AISquare's policy of having new versions ready for a major
release of Windows.

Social-Eyes served as an interim solution to access to Facebook. But,
now

the access group at Facebook is working with GW Micro developers to make
Facebook accessible directly with Window-Eyes. We should thank the
Facebook
developers and those at AI Squared for joint commitment to make Facebook

its many features directly accessible via our favorite screen reader.

Hi Stephen,

Honestly, I did not nor do I wish to escalate this into an argument, and
please allow me to apologize if you are offended by my response to your
post, which is below, and to which I have replied once again for clarity.
If you read your words below, perhaps you can explain why you suggested
that Window-Eyes might not continue to be developed by AI Squared.
It seems to me that you were simply joking that you ran the AI Squared
post through a binary file analizer and discovered the above information.
Either that or you received a copy of the post which did have such
embedded information.
I would very much like to make peace with you, if possible, but I don't
wish myself or AI Squared to be thought of as foolish or victims of
ridicule.
It's a fine line between letting go and surrender, if you can appreciate
where I'm coming from.

Best regards,

Rod

Actually, It was binary not text. I ran it through a binary editor, and
had it try to extract any text it could find out of it and it found some
text which said, we really don't care about all the problems with our

even be another Window-eyes version.

I do second the request, that you please keep this list freed from any

Off-Topic matters here, let alone that we now have to deal with even
the list-managers themselves putting out mails that are nothing but
useless. You know, that is actually another version of what in the

You, AISquared if any, should know what your screen reader can

further info on the matter, I really still am scratching my hair off,
to figure what it all was about, or meant to say. Your explanation,

Hi, Dennis.

Windows Search can be turned off by doing this:

Start > Control Panel > Programs and features> Turn Windows Features On
or

Off >.
You'll have to choose yes at the UAC prompt, then wait for the list of
features to populate. When it does, tab to the tree view and navigate
down

to Windows Search and uncheck it.
Tab to OK and press Enter.

Some people like the search box, others are still comfortable with the

of Windows XP. Decide for yourself.

innovative new ways to access the web, and provides a more reliable and
responsive screen reading experience. Window-Eyes 9.2 offers access to
the latest tools and technologies to make you more effective and
productive at work, at school, and at home.
Keep reading to learn about all of the new features and enhancements in
Window-Eyes 9.2:

Windows 10 and Office 2016 Support

*Comprehensive support for Windows 10 includes:

o Windows 10 Start menu

o Action Center

o Virtual Desktops

o Quick Access view in File Explorer

*Preliminary Support for Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook in
the Microsoft Office 2016 Preview.

Innovative Access to Facebook and other Popular Web Applications

*New functionality called Web Application Mode has been added
that makes interacting with dynamic web applications even easier.

*On web sites, such as Facebook and Google Docs which implement
their own hot keys, Web Application Mode enables you to use these
site-specific commands without having to turn Browse Mode off. This leads
to a more intuitive and efficient web browsing experience.

New Addition to Auto Recovery

*Window-Eyes 9.0 introduced the Auto-Recovery tool which enables
you to restart Window-Eyes if another application you are using becomes
unresponsive. We have continued to improve this feature in Window-Eyes
9.2. If Internet Explorer stops responding, it would often keep
Window-Eyes from speaking. Now, if Internet Explorer stops responding,
Window-Eyes will continue speaking automatically without requiring the
user to do anything.

Support for Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

*Adobe recently released a new version of Adobe Acrobat Reader,
called Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. Window-Eyes 9.2 includes support for
Adobe Reader DC, enabling users to take advantage of all of the benefits
offered by the free PDF viewer.

Bug Fixes

*Window-Eyes 9.2 has numerous bug fixes and performance
enhancements, including improved speech responsiveness and stability.

*For a complete list of new features, improvements and changes in
Window-Eyes 9.2, please refer to the Window-Eyes 9.2 Read
