Re: Is there a start up sound for sound for JAWS or a way to enable one?
Yes, Windows 8 does have a startup sound but no shut down sound. -Original Message- From: Nick Sarames via Talk Sent: Wednesday, December 13, 2017 10:44 AM To: Window-Eyes Discussion List Cc: Nick Sarames Subject: Re: Is there a start up sound for sound for JAWS or a way to enable one? Does Windows have a startup sound? My Windows-7 had one, but 8.4 hasn't made a sound. Maybe I have to change a setting - I just haven't bothered because of WE. Does Windows have a startup sound? My Windows-7 had one, but 8.4 hasn't made a sound. Maybe I have to change a setting - I just haven't bothered because of WE. Re: Is there a start up sound for sound for JAWS or a way to enable one?
By default, NOPE! If you are familiar with scripting, or do know someone who are, you might be able to make a small script, which would provide such a feature. Funny why they never gave Jaws that small jingle, whenever Jaws is starting or ending. I mean, WinEyes has had it for years, and NVDA likewise. Seem to remember, someone on the list having created the needed script, but don't remember who, or how to get it.
