RE: accessible google site
Hi: Me too. 2 days ago the search started returning a 404 message to any search for the labs accessibility page. Another programmer and myself ran some tests and it looks like they have finally taken that feature down pretty much completely other than the home page - the search just wont work even though the home page comes up. We worked with it in both Internet Explorer and Firefox to see if it was a browser problem, cleared cache and other things but nothing worked. One test, the first one, did have a successful search but after trying in both browsers subsequent searches would not return anything. So it looks like Google has allowed that feature to die and we will have to find another search page, sigh, it was my favorite as well. Note that perhaps there are several servers handling requests for search services and one is down while others may not be down, or down yet, but if it still works after a few days post up Marylin so we can think about what may be going on at google and the labs accessibility page. The first test, the only one that worked, did run using Internet Explorer so we ried Firefox which did not work. After that we tried Internet Explorer again and it would no longer work. We first thought Firefox had caused the problem but after trying many options neither browser would bring up the search so we concluded the search feature was not working on whichever google server we were being sent to and that it was likely not browser related. But if anyone out there is still getting good search results like Marilyn post up so we can rethink what may be going on. I am in Michigan and the other programmer down in Virginia so may, or not, be getting routed to the same google search server. If you still get search results let me know where you are located and which browser you use. Yes, I think it does not exist anymore, cause when you type in the address bar Google.com/accessibil or the other address labs.Google.com/access you come to the same page.
