I cannot speak to why this occurred for you, as I've never had good luck with 
the spellcheck window.  You are better served to use the alt semicolon and alt 
apostrophe spell check commands in Outlook just as you do in Word.  These are a 
Window Eyes function and I find it much more useful.  The reason I leave my 
Outlook spell check window enabled is to remind me to spell check (in which 
case I just escape out of the spell check window and us the above commands) and 
because the spell check window will catch errors in my subject line that the 
window eyes commands will not.

Well, spell checker has never worked very good for me at best, but, now it is 
useless.

 

It worked enough to do something, but, now, no good at all.

 

Perhaps not, but, it was the new update to  windows enhanced, no revelence?
