True, but it's precisely because of the lack of an official announcement, not to mention Freedom Scientific's past lawsuits against GW Micro, that people are convinced that Window-Eyes' days are numbered. I for one hope not of course but I'll use it as long as I can before making a decision whether to go Mac or grit my teeth and use NVDA.

No official announcement has been made on the status of Window-eyes.
Some of you are so convinced it's going away, yet nothing has come down.
Why don't you wait for an official announcement before making the next
step? Or, better yet, if you *really* value Window-eyes as a
screenreader, write to them and let them know that their efforts would
be worth something, if some decision were to be made.  JAWS gets a lot
of its use from government contracts, so Window-eyes could have a
foot-hold on the consumer end, if they were to make it available at a
reduced price, or continue to offer the free version, which I think they
still do. so i do believe there is a place for it.
