Window-eyes Upgrade Problem
Hi, I went to the Window-eyes update page and entered my cerial number. I got the message that the file didn’t generate properly. I have tried this several times with the same result. I notice a lot of repetative messages with the same problems on this list. Please, people, if you're having trouble downloading the latest upgrade, wait a few days or do it in the middle of the night when most users are asleep. It's been said many times here that the server can't handle all the downloads it's supposed to be doing all at once, so please chill out! Hi, go to www.gwmicro.com/update, put in your ten digit serial number, ignore what veriions it tells you you've got or what comes up, but, this is tricky so take note as it needs both hands: With the left hand on the upgrade button but don't press it just yet, but tb|e right hand on the cursor down key, press the left key first but press the other key as quickly as possible afterwards as this stops the brojser from going back to Google or searching for alternasive pages. ,That's the onkn way I could get it to start downloading. It will ask you if you want to run or save, when you've pressed Alt r or Alt s, Close the browser window once you hear the machines pitch tones start getting higher that tell you it's downloading. After that, just listen to the machine. Chris, I noticed that too. My arrow and tab keys did nothing and the only way I could tell anything was happening was to read the window with the 2 keys and w. earlier, Chris Skarstad via Talk, wrote: Hi guys I got to thinking after upgrading to Wineyes 9.1 that during the instalation process, there was a minute or two of time when it seemed like nothing was happening, it was almost as if things got stuck, even though it really didn't. When you first run the installer, you get a message that says the process is starting and you do hear a few beeps indicating that the instalation process has started, but after that, there's no feedback on the screen that something is actually happening. I even looked with the window-eyes cursor to see if I could get a fare few clues as to what was happening, and I couldn't get any. Then about 30 seconds later or so, I received the prompt asking me if i wanted to upgrade to the latest version with the yes and no buttons. It would be nice if there could be some kind of feedback that something is happening during those first few seconds, this would help someone doing their first upgrade to know that yes, the install process really is indeed starting, and the necessary files are being prepared. I'm guessing that's what that is? I know this might seem to be a bit of a strange request, but after upgrading to 9.1 that idea occurred to me. It's actually something I've thought of a lot before, but I could never quite put it into words, so I hope this makes some kind of sense. I'm talking about maybe having either some progress bars appear on the screen, or to have some kind of audible indication, kind of like what happens when the default apps are installed after you have to restart your computer after the instalation process is over, this happens in windows 7, not sure about it in windows 8 land. Either way, I hope that can possibly happen, i know that maybe new users might appreciate that because they might think their computers are stuck on this screen for a really long time.
