It'd be like trying to tag plots in landuse=forest as felled or mature. While it'd be interesting it would quickly become unreliable and reduce the quality of data. So while I would love to have burnt areas mapped in OSM I just think it's not worth trying. [talk-au] Average speed limit cameras
Can someone please check my work? http://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/5510636 There's an average speed limit section in Canberra near Woden too but no one has added that to the map yet so I couldn't copy. Any other examples I could refer to? Unfortunately I've had to use "maxspeed" as the enforcement type even though you could do 200 km/h while in the enforcement area and then pull over and wait for 10 minutes and not get booked. It appears you shouldn't include the highway way in the relation just the nodes so I've created the two camera devices and attached them to nodes of the highway using a relation and the roles to, from and device. For interest, the average speed enforcement section of the Federal Highway is 19.13 km long. [talk-au] National Park unclosed poly, want advice
Hi all, I've been doing a bit of coastal mapping and keep butting into this unclosed poly that's annoying me ... so I'd like to have a go at fixing it up, unless JOSM is just rendering it wrong because it's a multipart poly and I'm not downloading all the data it needs to close it? I can't make sense of it either … https://maps.six.nsw.gov.au should be the authoritative source in this instance but it just doesn't describe underground ways very well or at all in many cases. If you do modify the way can you please reference the source URL so if others want to contest it, change it again then we can dispute the credibility of the source rather than overwriting back and forth.
