[OSM-talk] planet.openstreetmap.org down / replication broken?

2010-10-14 Thread Florian Lohoff

Hi,
it seems the replication broke as planet.openstreetmap.org is unreachable.

f...@bs6:~$ ping -c3 planet.openstreetmap.org
PING planet.openstreetmap.org (128.40.168.99) 56(84) bytes of data.

--- planet.openstreetmap.org ping statistics ---
3 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 2015ms

Which causes no map updates neither on mapnik nor on osmarender/t...@h.

Server Status page does not mention this.

Yes we are having problems with the machine today.

Okay ... I just got mail that my OSM mirror dbs were far behind so i checked.

Also note ICMP ping is blocked via our host.

Huh ? Why ? Isnt a simple reachability check better be done with icmp echo
request?

I mean icmp amplification attacks are not really an issue today with reverse
path
filtering ...

Yip. It is not by our request.

XAPI.osm.org and OSMF sites are down. An APC PDU has blown.

#osm (CET times):

[03:35] Ldp something's up with planet.openstreetmap.org. I can get
the main listing, but not any of the subdirs or the README
[03:35] Ldp does that still work through NFS?

Seems fine to me.
Internet Explorer (and likely some others) are unable to download
files over 4GB.

What error are you getting?
