[talk-au] Trouble with routing through an intersection

2021-09-01 Thread Simon Slater
G'day all,
This morning I created a route from Serpentine to Castlemaine
and at
one intersection the route would backtrack. Located a way at the intersection
with one-way set incorrectly ( I travel through this intersection often) and
made this change https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/110588330 but now, a
few hours later the routing is still wrong:
https://www.openstreetmap.org/directions?
engine=fossgis_osrm_car=-36.59894%2C143.93811%3B-36.59984%2C143.93824
Can anyone see what is wrong at this intersection in the changeset?

[talk-au] NSW Open Data - Road Trip Innovation Challenge

2021-09-01 Thread Brendan Barnes
This competition will be of interest to mappers in the local OSM community:

*About the Challenge*
Transport for NSW (TfNSW) is challenging innovators to come up with digital
solutions to help people navigate our Tourist Drives and get the most out
of tourist road trips in NSW for when we can travel across NSW again.

Seed funding up to $25,000 is available for successful applicants, if
required.

A virtual information session
 will be held on
Wednesday 8 September, providing interested parties an opportunity to learn
more about the challenge, what’s on offer, and ask questions about the
process. Register for the information session via Eventbrite
. Can’t make it on the
day? A recording of the information session will be made available on this
page after the event.

Re: [talk-au] New Bing imagery?

2021-09-01 Thread Adam Horan
I can't see it in the suburbs of Melbourne yet. :(

However they are now marking National Parks clearly in the normal map mode
(not that it helps us), and they seem to have a new detailed terrain model.
The hill shading on some sand quarries near me is much more detailed and
accurate than I recall seeing before: eg

Yes there is. Has also shown up in NSW and Qld.

We were discussing that today in #oceania on the OSM Discord.

For Perth at any rate, it seems that there is new Bing imagery available,
taken this year. I might be a bit slow off the mark, but this makes tracing
buildings far far better! I'm sure it was crappier last week.

For Perth at any rate, it seems that there is new Bing imagery
available, taken this year. I might be a bit slow off the mark, but this
makes tracing buildings far far better! I'm sure it was crappier last week.
