Re: [Talk-GB] Anyone in South-West London?
There is now a place name Stadium Village just north of Twickenham town centre that is unfamiliar to me (I live across the Thames). The linked Wikipedia page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stadium_Village,_Middlesex exists but reads oddly. -- Andrew From: Andrew Hain Sent: 21 March 2020 11:18 To: Colin Smale Cc: Talk-GB Subject: Re: [Talk-GB] Anyone in South-West London? Re: [Talk-GB] 'Freemap' - partial reprieve
Hello Martin, OK - yes, sorry. http://www.mapthepaths.org.uk/freemap Getting some subtleties with dealing with the trailing slash, which I'll need to investigate. Seems to be a bit more subtle to deal with than just adding it as an optional character in a regex pattern. [Talk-GB] 'Freemap' - partial reprieve
Hello everyone, Although my long-standing, albeit not-updated-in-ages Freemap site (www.free-map.org.uk) is closing down at the end of the month, Freemap is having a partial reprieve as a mode on MapThePaths. You can access it via http:///www.mapthepaths.org.uk/freemap On reflection, even though I do not want the maintenance effort and expense of a separate server and applictation for Freemap, I still think (even though it looks a bit dated) the layer is useful for showing rights-of-way and permissive paths on an OSM-derived map with contours. Rolling it into MapThePaths as an alternative mode (in addition to the existing 'standard' and historic maps mode) will considerably save on the maintenance effort, particularly as they both have the same back-end.
