Re: [Talk-GB] Signup bug corrected (Re: Update to Freemap)

2014-12-07 Thread Nick Whitelegg
Hi,

Sorry! not my weekend obviously.

Another bug has come to light as a result of over-zealous search-and-replace to
correct the first bug.

Due to a change in directory structure I replaced all 0.7s with fm, and the
result was that the default longitude -0.72 was replaced with -fm2, oops!

If you've signed up but can't login , try now.

Thanks,

Nick

Hi,

Sorry - a couple of people pointed out an error in the sign up link, which I
thought I'd removed.

If you were having problems signing up, try again now - it should work.

Thanks,

Nick

Subject: [Talk-GB] Update to Freemap

Hello everyone,

Would just like to announce an update to Freemap, my site for showing
walking-orientated maps of OSM data in England and Wales

It's still using Kothic JS as it has been for some time now, but now uses
Leaflet.draw for adding annotations and walking routes, resulting in a
(hopefully) more user friendly UI.

*Please do note* that this is a project I work on in my own time, so I don't
necessarily have the time to make it completely slick and professional, also do
note that the use of client side rendering can mean that the maps can be slow
to render if you haven't visited that area before. It isn't intended to be the
best mapping site out there... it is just a hobbyist project!

On Chrome on Windows, rendering actually seems slower now than a year or two
ago (not sure if this is chrome or the new version of Kothic) while Firefox and
IE seem to be quicker.

Does this sound familiar to anyone else using kothic-js?

If you have previously registered, please note you need to re-register as I
have upgraded the login system to use PHP's native password functions rather
than the (now regarded as insecure) sha1.

I'm hoping to also make it properly mobile-friendly in the next couple of weeks.
