Re: [talk-ph] HOT-Ph Activation for the recent Mindanao earthquakes - Task 7147

2019-11-04 Thread Nick Brown
Dear OSM-Ph community,

Thank you everyone for your continued support in the mapping response to
the recent earthquakes in Mindanao! In two days 177 contributors, almost
all from the Philippines, have added more than 25,00 buildings! Task 7147
has 38% mapped tiles with 9%
validated. Great work!

Updates:

The NDRRMC is reporting 21 dead and 432 injured. Many government and
humanitarian agencies have responded. Damage and needs assessments are
wrapping up, with nearly 29,000 buildings identified as damaged so far. An
estimated 21,800 people remain in 30 evacuation centers. More details
available at this morning’s NDRRMC SitRep at
http://ndrrmc.gov.ph/attachments/article/3929/Update_SitRep_no10_re_Mag_6_6_and_6_5_Earthquakes_in_Tulunan_North_Cotabato_issued_on_03_Nov_2019_6AM.pdf.
You can follow the Philippines Red Cross’ response on their Facebook page
at https://www.facebook.com/phredcross/.

As agencies continue their response and then recovery, the data you
contribute to OpenStreetMap will be useful to all decision makers, so
please keep mapping at https://tasks.hotosm.org/project/7147. The area
remains at high risk for aftershocks and additional events.

Notes:

   -

Please check both Bing and Maxar imagery. In many places Maxar imagery
is clearer and more up to date, and vice versa.
   -

If you are a validator, please prioritize helping with validation. We
have more mappers contributing than validators. We have many new mappers
contributing so please be encouraging with your feedback.
   -

Please focus first on mapping the primary settlements and built up
areas. These areas were significantly affected.

Thank you all for your continued contributions!

Sincerely,

HOT Philippines Team
