Hi, I've submitted a proposal for a GSoC project with OpenStreetMap, and would like to know of any possible mentors for the same. Also, any feedback on the application would be greatly appreciated (I assume the mentors have access to the proposal. If not, kindly let me know, so that I may post my proposal here).
The basic idea is to create an extension to OpenStreetMap (implemented as a mobile HTML5 app) that allows users to share cabs easily (this can be further extended to private car-pooling). The design is simple: users upload their travel schedules. Based on their origin, destination and time of travel (maybe other factors too), they are matched optimally with other users who they can share cabs with.
