Chefmeister,
There are some good ones there for sure. Jimmy wrote She's Coming
Around after a thing heard Monroe say. Jimmy's daddy wrote
Chippewa, a G minor thing. I think that on one of the others he
recorded Rose City Chimes which is an old steel guitar tune they
used to play on the Opry a lot. Jimmy learned it from Tut Taylor
whilst they were working for Monroe. Come to think of it, I've got an
LP here someplace of a Jim Jesse recording with Jesse playing Rose
City Chimes on an electric mandola. Can't remember the name of the
record, but it's a good one, plenty unusual.

By the way, I've put the sheet music/tab to a good tune in the files
section. It was written/played by Avil Linton's brother Bernice Ray.
He called it Bernie's Tune. A few of the webcam folks are working
on that, so join in the fray.

And don't beat yourself up, but Red Clay Records sells Pieces of Time

  wasn't expecting to see that!

Northern white Clouds was on the first Monroe Album I ever owned.
Shows how long I've been playing/engrossed/learning Blue Grass I
guess.  Live at Mountain Stage show in 1994 I think, I got it in 2003
or so.  Blake Williams tears the mess out of it.  A killer tune
  indeed.

  Back to the fires...

Well Uncle Tater...
Nothing mandolin related thus far,BUT I did buy myself an Enoch open back banjo
with a 12 pot and a frailing scoop.
NowIf I could just play the d*#n thing.
Good for some oldtime tunes(if I could learn to drop my thumb).
Maybe Miss Ang will buy me another Monroe boxed set. That'd be good.

I have a good stout on tap(and a mocha stout ready to keg),so come see me!
