Re: Filter defunctionated
Hi Jast, Just recently, about since June 28, a filter for marking my own messages as unread and with a color group, has stopped working on messages that I send through a mailing list and receive back again. It does work on messages I send myself. Since it works on messages you send to yourself, the filter setting should be fine. To be sure, I've just created a filter exactly as you described, and it does mark your message in both TBBETA and TBUDL as it should. Do you mean the problem occurs only on messages for one particular mailing list, or any mailing list (I'm trying to decipher what "a mailing list" mean). If it's the former, I would check if the list has changed its header. Some mailing lists would strip the original "From" information from the header. -- Best regards, Ming-Li mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- -- View the TBBETA archive at http://tbbeta.thebat.dutaint.com To send a message to the list moderation team double-click HERE: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe from TBBETA, double-click HERE: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- You are subscribed as : archive@jab.org

Nope, it happens with all messages sent to and then received by a mailing list, be it TBUDL, TBBETA, or various egroups mailing lists - no difference. None of these lists has changed their header, and it *should* be properly detected. This is what confuses me. -- .. Hi Jast, Morning Ming-Li, Morning. Well, actually I'm just about to sleep. It's 5:30 pm here, But I've been up since midnight. Nope, it happens with all messages sent to and then received by a mailing list, be it TBUDL, TBBETA, or various egroups mailing lists - no difference. None of these lists has changed their header, and it *should* be properly detected. This is what confuses me. That's strange. "Your" filter is still working here. In fact, I almost missed your message because it's marked read already. :) -- Best regards, Ming-Li mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- -- View the TBBETA archive at http://tbbeta.thebat.dutaint.com To send a message to the list moderation team double-click HERE: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe from TBBETA, double-click HERE: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- You are subscribed as : archive@jab.org
Re: Filter defunctionated
Hi Jast, - first filter in list - option checked: continue processing with other filters - actions checked: mark as read, mark with color group "own msgs" One thing just came to mind. Maybe you want to try unckecking the "continue processing with other filters" option, so the messages would stay in the Inbox but should be marked as specified. If they are properly marked in the Inbox, then the culprit lies in some other filter(s) down below. If they're not properly marked even in the Inbox, then that filter itself is the culprit. In that case, I would suggest deleting it and recreate one. Sometimes things are just weird.

Morning Ming-Li, Morning. Well, actually I'm just about to sleep. It's 5:30 pm here, But I've been up since midnight. eh.. that's just my template. Can't miss an opportunity to cause controversy ;-) That's strange. "Your" filter is still working here. In fact, I almost missed your message because it's marked read already. :) The Bat!'s filter system is very quirky at times... But still.. It used to work, and it works on messages not sent through mailing lists. Now, if I apply the filter to a message manually per hotkey, The marking actions are always applied, whether it matches or not. Another strange thing. I deleted and recreated the filter. Let's see if it works this time. -- .. Cosmetic Bug in Beta 5 with Sorting Filters Menu
Hello The Bat! developers, I'm using The Bat! Version 1.45 Beta/5 Serial Number DD0BD4BA under Windows 98 4.10 Build 1998 and would like to report a bug The bug description: When I choose to configure Office Filters/Incoming Mail either through the toolbar icon or using the Account menu, the right hand screen opens to the "Advanced" menu even though you have chosen the first tab... labelled as Rule. Steps to reproduce the bug: Select Sorting Office/Filters by whichever method you want, then choose Incoming Mail... highlight an existing Rule, and see if the right hand screen of the dialogue box isn't mistakenly showing the "Advanced" menu rather than the "Rule" menu.
