On the page http://ps.yaroslavl.ru/downloads.shtml there is list of
available dictionaries. After I've installed Russian dictionary (I
have no Crypt Edit on my computer) The Bat showed
Russian(CSAPI)language.
But there is no Czech language in this list :(, so my variant can't be
applied :(.

Speed of searching - 'Part II'

2001-12-31 Thread Marc van Breemen

Hi,

Some time ago I started a discussion about the IMHO slow performance
of the search functionality in TB. Then the issue was about large
attachments. Now I have performed another test without any attachments
at all.

I have a folder with 8000 messages (no attachments at all). Please
don't ask why so many messages, just lets say they are important for
me to keep. I performed a search on it in The Bat, Becky and Forte
Agent (all with option 'Anywhere').

Results: Agent : 10 seconds
 Becky : 13 seconds
 The Bat: 46 seconds

The Bat slow?, I think so.

That is slow. Did you try the same test on official version of The
Bat (1.53 d or t). The reason why I ask is I believe the slow search
time - in part - is directly related to how messages are sorted.

(In beta10 the method was changed. The end result is a major fishing
search to find messages in a sorted folder). However, prior to
beta10, the problem was not present.

EJM That is slow. Did you try the same test on official version of The

Oke, I will test it also on the last official release. But anyhow: if
the sorting is causing the slow search then this is a bug.

Oddity involving Known filter

2001-12-31 Thread Alastair Scott

Hello The Bat! developers,

  I'm using The Bat! Version 1.54 Beta/21
  Serial Number 1E7B0E3E
under Windows NT 5.1 Build 2600
and would like to report a bug

  The bug description:

Known filter can temporarily take the same name as a new filter.

  Steps to reproduce the bug:

1. Open the Sorting Office with Control-Shift-S.

2. Press the New button to start designing a new incoming filter and
change the Name: (right-hand panel) to, for example, [xxx];

3. Navigate to the left-hand panel and click on the Known filter;
its name changes to [xxx] and remains so until the Sorting Office is
closed and re-opened.

SpellChecker in 1.53t vs. b10/b19

2001-12-31 Thread Eddie Castelli

Dear readers from 'TB!beta List',

-- Happy New Year to all

After Setting up my System from scratch and updating to W2k my
SpellChecker does not work anymore under b10 and b19. Still it does
under v1.53t
When using one of the Betas all menu items - except 'Language' - is
grayed out!

Anyone having an idea why and how to solve the problem??
