MS and in my opinion we should find and fix the problem - not
MS to avoid the problem...

We found the problem, GnuPG don't work properly with The Bat!

To fix the problem, use a version of PGP that does work with The Bat!
 6.5.8.

You have a problem with GnuPG, use a different version. Problem sorted,
 not avoided!

You can assign a folder for your recipient and set it to play a
special sound upon new mails. Have a filter that sends the message

The way I've done it is to create a filter for that person then add the action
play a sound to that filter. (In addition to putting it in the correct folder,
etc.)

There's probably a better way.

Re: Save message as draft resets OpenPGP stettings

Hello Roelof!

PM No, it isn't. All unchecked after re-opening the draft.

I tried before confirming that, but apparently not good enough, seems
it didn't work with 3.0.1.33 either, since that's what I'm trying
 right now.
Please somebody tell me that I'm not going crazy. I remember that it
 used to work...

I believe that it used to work in v. 2.12.00. I think perhaps it broke
in v. 3.0, but I'm not certain. Anyway, shortly after I began running
v. 3.xx, my server was interrupted in the middle of sending, and TB!
put a message I had set to encrypt in the Outbox.

When the server came back up and I then sent the message, it was not
encrypted. Later, when I saved a signed message, I checked the Privacy
menu and found the sign option unchecked. So that's how I discovered
it was happening. I didn't make a bug report, however. Sort of new to
the game at the time. :)

I'd really like to. But how can I be sure? ;:)

RO I remember that it used to work...

Maybe. But there is this BT entry saying it would be solved again in
3.0.2.11: https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=2443

Should we laugh about it or add a comment?

MS So - must be TheBat problem - in my opinion.

MS I have no answer to my question how to see/log the command line
MS which TheBat sends to gpg.exe...

This has to be entered into the BugTraq system as a general (not beta
specific) bug in TB. (I confirm it as a serious issue).

I have received several messages that my messages verify ok in/with other
MUA's.

I have added this into the BugTraq system under 0004329.

I know for certain that it did work somewhere in the v3 series, since
I that didn't use PGP before that.

Then they did have it fixed and it broke again before v. 3.0.2.8/10. I
have seen that happen with other TB! functions. Maybe they will get it
fixed and stable this go-around.

Meanwhile, one has to remember to check the Privacy menu for messages
in the Outbox that one wants to use PGP with. sigh

I added a note to https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=4327

and also to https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=2443 , which is the
earlier report of this issue that had been marked as fixed and resolved.
Maxim and Stefan's names--Stefan in the log, June 10, 2004--appear
there. Maybe one of them will notice this thread. :)

Hello Martin,

A reminder of what Martin Schoch on TBBETA typed on:
  24 March 2005 at 19:08:22 GMT +0100

MS This is not a fix - it's a workaround.

I was only trying to help, besides, a workaround is a bodge to get you by.
Installing a proper version of PGP that fully works is a perfect solution.
