Yes, I have SP2. But I don't this this feature was added only with
SP2, but I may be wrong.

Double-click on the desktop icon My Computer, then Control Panel
(that's in the left pane, second from top and is called "Other
places"; Control Panel is the last option). In the Control Panel you
can access the Security Center when you click on that large icon. It's
the last one of ten options here.

When the Security Center opens, you have a pane on the left that's
called "Resources".

If that's not the case, please let me know what is different in your
version.

I guess you just need SP2. I don't use automated update (it caused
problems with one of those "anti-malware packs") and haven't updated
for two months or so. TB windows close fast, but I am unable to

That's not true. If I update, I do it manually only.

In the Security Center, check out the left pane, "Resources". click on
"Check for the latest..." and it will take you there. MS will check on
your computer which updates you have already installed and offer those
you haven't. You can choose which ones you want to download, and also
choose whether you want to be reminded of the otehrs later.

I use Opera, too and really like it, but it processes javascript
differently than IE or FF/Moz (can't remember the specifics right
now). This is why many financial institutions on the web won't work
properly with Opera. This says more about them than Opera I think, as
Opera is very secure.

So - you mau have to break down and use IE or FF. I think I used IE in
this particular instance.

Was it the same one TB showed after selecting the "All" tab (which is

I've reported this problem quite a while ago. There is something very
strange on the graphics side. I have

+ Tested two different graphics cards (Radeon and nVidia)
+ Doubled the memory (from 512 to 1Gig)
+ Made sure by XP Professional SP2 were up to date.
+ Change graphics options (Windows Advanced Features)
+ Tested it on three different machines (Laptop, PII and and a PIII)
+ Cleaned out the registry
+ deleted the tbuser file numerous times
+ Done a new install twice.

Still the graphics is a real problem.

I think there is something in the underlying code. However, I am only
a user and I can only report my problems from the perspective of using
the program in the field.

I suspect the programers are aware of this problem.

512MB at the moment. :(

Check the mainboard chipset and graphics card drivers first, I'd say.

When I repaired my Windows XP installation last week, I was missing the VIA
chipset AGP busmaster driver and thus could not install the latest ATI
drivers for my gfx card. Screen redraws were painfully slow. After
installing the chipset driver again I updated the gfx card driver and
everything was running fast & smooth again.

TB Voyager and its interface

2005-11-19 Thread Claude Renaud
Hi,

I have been working with TB since few years now.
I switched temporarily from tb to outlook tis last months waiting for
the arrival of the portable version of TB.
Now is here so I began to test it.
And I would like to know if a sighted person could tell me if the
interface has changed since the 3.60 version of tb, because in this
version, my screen reader had no problem to follow the focus each time
I hit the tab key.
But in this version it is very difficult to navigate in various dialog
boxes such as the preferences or properties one I often obliged to use
my virtual cursor and click with the mouse on objects because hitting
the tab key I can not reach them as before.

And if I asked you if the interface has changed, it's also because, in
the 3.60x versions I had no problem setting up tb browsing the various
configuration dialogs, but in this version I noticed that Jaws, my
screen reader does not recognize the usual objects as checkboxes, radio
buttons and so on ...
I tried to play around with various themes and windows accessibility options
but nothing
changed, no reading improvements ...

So, could someone tell me if there is something to set up inparticular
in order to facilitate TB working ... with ... screen readers ?

Slow redraw of main screen, try to find the cause

2005-11-19 Thread Vili
Hello all,

So, you could see this thread about slow closing of TB! and slow
reappearance of the message list (or main screen) if you open and
close a mail in full window.

So, please, open a mail in full window (Enter) and close the mail
(Esc).

So, please answer this questions:
1. How many second is from the push of the Esc until you get back your
original main screen? Estimate.

2. What is you op.system (if XP, Prof or Home?, specify that English,
Russian, etc.)?

3. What is your service pack?

4. When did you update your Windows last time? Do you have automatic
update switched on?

5. What kind of CPU you have (speed, too), how much RAM you have.

6. What is your TB! version (I am kind of interested in the .14, last
version)?

I have a XP Home, with SP1, and 512 MB RAM, it takes 3-4 sec to close
a mail... It is not right. As other people have the same problem, with
this survey I would like to find out, if my opsys have some old
component that redraws that screen this slow, or not...

longer visible. Just a + mark left-side of "Lists" account

OK, I select "unread" tab and see nothing because I am in account with
no mails currently

> - select "All" tab

I do, and still don't see anything because there is nothing, other
than empty Inbox/Outbox folders, to see.

Hummm, must be the moon cycle ? I can't make it show me the Inbox on
my system anyway.

Now, this is strange...

2005-11-19 Thread Vili
Hello tbbeta,

Check this:
- close your account tree
- focus on one of your account
- select a message list tab that is not "All"
- select "All" tab

You can see your Inbox mails... :)

I totally understand you, Peter. What I tried to say: I have like 3
password protected account. I made a backup, restored, and -of course-
I did not get back my PW protected accounts. (I am just testing, so I
did not lose mails :) So, I know, it is "normal" behaviour, BUT: at
least a warning message should be there...

Voyager, due to its mobile nature, encrypts everything, it could be
painful or embarrassing when you lose your USB stick and somebody
reads your mail. (That's why I strongly suggest you install Voyager
again with a password.)
Due to this encryption scheme the directories matching your mail
folders have encrypted names.

Re[2]: What is the role of all those directories that are getting created .. in the Voyager ..??

2005-11-19 Thread Narayana
Hello Roelof,

Sorry for my previous e-mail on this issue. I figured out the problem.
I had imported a folder from my regular TB installation which had many
directories inside it. I just deleted all of them to make sure I was
right. I understood the problem.

Still I do not get another issue right. I have not encrypted
anything. I have not given any passwords. Even the Master Password is
empty. So Why should my files be in *.EBB & *.EBI format, as you were
saying.
Also , There are no folders with names "Inbox" etc., inside those
account folders.

What browser do you use? My default browser is IE and that does the
trick. Haven't heard about other browsers not performing properly.

Its not a single message, the message with the above ID is the announcement

If you don't have the message, you can go to the public mail archive and
