Making the CMDLINE work

First off, if TB is running and I have a prog/script that calls TB
with parameters to, say, create a mail message, can I expect it to
appear in the outbasket?

Hello Stuart,

 appear in the outbasket?

Yes, of course. I wrote a program, that I wrote for handling newsgroup
digests. My program takes the text from a file/clipboard (could be
changed to automatically invoked by a filter in TB and transfer the
message body automatically, but I prefer the manual way), cuts the
digest into separate messages, I answer some in that program and when
I a ready, I send it back to TB, that lands in one account's outbox. I
used Delphi 3, I can share the code if you need. (I implemented
different colors for different reply depths as it is in TB :)

Thanks, I appreciate the offer, 'cos I'm getting nowhere fast here.

My quick sample looks like this ...

//MAILU=Stuart at Work;[EMAIL PROTECTED];S=TEST;QUEUE

Obviously, Stuart at Work is the name of the account, it's not p/w
protected.

When I run the command, I can see a new copy of TB open in the test
list, but there's no sign of my message anywhere.

Hello Stuart,

 My quick sample looks like this ...
 //MAILU=Stuart at Work;[EMAIL PROTECTED];S=TEST;QUEUE

use
/MAILU=Stuart at Work;[EMAIL PROTECTED];S=TEST;QUEUE
instead of
//MAILU=Stuart at Work;[EMAIL PROTECTED];S=TEST;QUEUE

(delete one / from the beginning) and it will work.

Strange, been playing with it on and off for a couple of hours based
on the HELP file and never questioned the double slash!

I see that there's no way to get text in to the message without saving
it to a file first. That's a shame.

There is simple dash in the Help file :)

...and why is that a problem?

The Bat! under Windows Vista

2006-09-28 Thread Maxim Masiutin
Hello Tbbeta,

If somebody did suffer from compatibility issues of The Bat! on Windows
Vista, please download an updated executable from
http://www.ritlabs.com/download/files3/the_bat/beta/thebat_vista.rar

The main incompatibility issue was that The Bat! did try to write to protected
registry area to update the mailto: and .eml/.vcf association.

We have disabled the association check in this special version. But you can
still assign it via Windows Explorer or Vista Set Default Programs:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnlong/html/AppComp.asp

In future we will modify The Bat! to check and update association in
Vista-compatibly way (via API).

Besides Vista compatibility fixes, there are two minor fixes in this version
with Filters-Export and biometric authentication.

[*] The Bat! should now be compatible with Windows Vista
[-] Filters: 'Export' action - file was overwritten even with increment name
option enabled
[-] Biometric authentication might not work.

Please let me know whether you have any compatibility issues in Vista with this
version.

BTW, did anybody have any success with Microsoft Application Compatibility
Toolkit v4.1 or 5.0? If yes, please let me know. I was only able to run
Microsoft Application Verifier 3.2 and Microsoft Standard User Analyzer.
