...and why is that a problem?
Because the program I'm trying to mail-enable provides access to the
various bits of data I want to include in a number of macro-like
variables but doesn't provide the ability to create a data file with
that same info in.

I see...

So the program is able to execute a commandline, but not able to write
a datafile?

What about the mailto: (MAPI) option? If I know well, you can put 256
byte body text in it... (...body=whatever).

I have to be cheeky - Maxim may have fixed TB... but... is Vista running
 Stuart? :-/

Yes, well sort of. I have really been unable to test as I could not
have the email running. I only have the beta installed, but I have
downloaded the release candidate, just haven't installed it yet.

That's an option I suppose, but I think I'll run in to problem trying
to access TB! templates.

ASK Press ALT+5 in the messagelist to activate it, or by

For me, this isn't much better. In fact, all of the threading
options just scatter messages about in different ways, probably
due to the fact that no two email programs agree on how to
address the darn things. sigh

ASK Add a supporting note to this wishlist item, please:
ASK http://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=5152

Added. Hope we get more votes... I hope everyone else on this
list checks it out to see if they agree it is worthwile (or not)...

ASK Notifying those people about their irritating behaviour is
ASK like being Don Quixote fighting the windmills.

Just like trying to teach parents about computer security...

ASK You can always re-thread messages (was implemented in some v3 of TB):
ASK drag drop a message onto a thread to re-thread it, shift-drag to
ASK un-thread it.

Well, at least there's a manual way to fix TB's mess...

thebat.ipc - named pipes

2006-09-29 Thread Maxim Masiutin
Hello Tbbeta,

There were many problems reported about THEBAT.IPC file.

I suggest replacing THEBAT.IPC to named pipes.

See my idea about this in TBTECH@thebat.dutaint.com and
TBDEV@thebat.dutaint.com mailing lists. I apologize for posting to the both
lists.
