By the way, the same thing also happens with 3.86.8.

Have you tried 3.85.03? There is a MAPI Problem in the current Beta.
May Google use this function to send pictures etc..

Re: 3.86.08 - Reply threaded to wrong message

2006-12-03 Thread MAU
Hello Richard,

I can't find another occurrence of this ever happening before to me.
I've just replied to a message a few messages back in a long thread and
the reply was threaded to a message from me below and not to the
 intended message.

Are you threading just by References or References+Subject?

I used F4 to quote from the original and have tried un threading and
then re threading but it is still linked (by the threading line) to the
message below that is from me, even though the arrow showing that I've
replied is on the proper message.

Have you looked at the In-Reply-To and References headers of your reply
and see if they include the correct MID(s)?

Now, if Ritlabs had implemented viewing the original message that I
asked for way back in 2004 https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=3880 I
 could check!

Yes, it would be nice when hovering over a MID to have a 'Go to msg'
option on the context menu.

There is a 'dirty workaround'. Copy the MID in your reply, open an
editor window and paste it. Then insert 'mid:' in front of it and double
click on it.

The program installed with no problems.

However, there are still MAPI problems with this edition.

I could get it work if I could send to The Bat.

However, I could not get it to work if I used MAPI within an
application (e.g., word).

On the following attempts to connect to POP3 everything worked smooth - no more

The issue was that The Bat crashes when invoked from Google Earth but other

was happening up to Google Earth crashing when trying to invoke The Bat to send

Whether or not Google Earth can load Gmail is not an issue here

No one can load gmail. Its a web service, not a program. If GE invokes
gmail, it has nothing to do with MAPI. You can not compare gmail and TB,
thats all.

This posting violated the list rules regarding top posting.

Top posting, i.e., typing all your reply text at the top of your
message and following it with all quoted text below, is not
encouraged and we actually request that you not do so on this list
because

a) It makes it difficult to glean context from what you typed at the
   top of the message

and

b) It encourages excessive quoting.

We would much prefer if you quote just that much of the message to
which you're replying, so we know what it is you're referring to,
and then below the quotation, type your response. If you're
responding to more than one part of the original, then quote each
part separately and follow each part with your response.

Now, I know that you may not personally prefer this format and that
you may disagree with some of the reasoning here. We very much
respect this. However, this is the format that most of the active
members here prefer and all members are expected, and are being
asked to use the format that will make most of the active membership
here comfortable reading. You'll likely get a more responsive group
when you post using a style that is comfortable for them to read and
understand.

To find out why these MOD messages are posted to the list instead of
private mail, please read the welcome message you received when you

To be honest about this, my preferred method is to use address book
templates. AB templates take precedence over folder templates, so a
correct folder template with an incorrect AB template still means that
you get a mess.

Apart from that, you realize of course that your message was lacking
the obligatory signature delimiter, don't you?
A proper signature delimiter consists of dash dash space enter on a

Odd. Can't confirm that yet.

I haven't been having any system issues either. I had originally put
the macros in the address book templates as was suggested some time
ago. The entry for this group was gone so it is conceivable that I
deleted it accidentally although the FOLDER had templates and the
program was not using them - they didn't set the editor but even
quotes weren't coming into a reply.

... and the word wrap - I can't reproduce it as once I LOOKED at the
setting (set for 70 character) the next email wrapped correctly. No
restarts of the Bat in there anywhere either
