Re: IMAP folders are missing on exit options
Hello Alexander, A reminder of what Alexander S. Kunz typed on: Saturday, February 17, 2007 at 12:31:11 GMT +0100 ASK normal (local) folders have an Additional section in their properties ASK dialogue. This is replaced by the IMAP specific section for IMAP ASK folders. ASK The local folders have two on exit options: ASK [ ] Remove old messages ASK [ ] Compress the folder ASK Both of these options are missing for IMAP folders. The standard ASK cleanup (maintenance) of IMAP folders is not really possible on exit ASK with these two options missing (like moving older messages to a local ASK archive folder automatically on exit, utilizing the alternative ASK deletion method). ASK Question is: are these two options omitted for a reason, and if so, ASK which? Or is it just a mistake? Actually I just checked and within my IMAP account I have 3 different sets of choices. My Inbox and Sent mail folders Have General and IMAP Specific, while my Outbox has General and Additional which includes Compress the Folder and Remove old Messages. And then all my folders that are sub-accounts of my Inbox, like my TB folder, contain General, IMAP-Specific, Templates, Sound, Identity, Deletion and Memo. Very confusing. -- Best regards, Stuartmailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Using The Bat! v3.96.07 (BETA) On Windows XP 5.1 Build #2600 Current beta is 3.96.07 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/

Deterioration over time of Export Text
Hello TB User Discussion List and TB Beta List, I started keeping a log of all message filtering back on July 29, 2003. I did this by adding an Export the message action. I use default settings (Plain text and Append to existing file). For the Template I have (for this group): %Date=yymmddhhnnss tbudl This produces a line for each message containing a time stamp followed by a short name for the last filter the mail went through. So from 2003 through most of August 5, 2006, it had one entry per line for each message filtered. But late in the day of 8/5/06, it began double spacing all of the lines! I changed nothing, except probably the version of The Bat!. Then on February 5, 2007, all hell broke lose! Looking at the last double spaced entry and the first wacky format: 070205160609 spam^M ^M [EMAIL PROTECTED]@[EMAIL PROTECTED]@[EMAIL PROTECTED]@[EMAIL PROTECTED]@[EMAIL PROTECTED]@[EMAIL PROTECTED]@ [EMAIL PROTECTED]@[EMAIL PROTECTED]@[EMAIL PROTECTED]@ [EMAIL PROTECTED] This is how my editor (Gvim) displays it. It uses unix format for this mess (lines end with a LF) and ^M is how it shows the CR. The ^@ is a hex 00. This looks like some style of Unicode. If the above is confusing, here's how those two lines look in a hex dump: 0033 8d50 0d 0a 30 37 30 32 30 35 31 36 30 36 30 39 20 73 ..070205160609 s 0033 8d60 70 61 6d 0d 0a 0d 0a 30 00 37 00 30 00 32 00 30 pam0.7.0.2.0 0033 8d70 00 35 00 31 00 36 00 31 00 31 00 35 00 31 00 20 .5.1.6.1.1.5.1. 0033 8d80 00 73 00 70 00 61 00 6d 00 0d 00 0a 00 0d 0a 30 .s.p.a.m...0 I can easily convert my 200,000 line file back to normal. But how can I get The Bat! to write Plain Text files again? I have copied the beta group because I believe the February change to wacky text was in a beta release. -- Best regards, Bill TB! By subject, by reference, both? The only hands-down accurate threading mode is by reference only. And... hm... what kind of thread should that be? Michelle replies to Michelle on two different days? Is the lady quite the nagging sort? ;-) If you're using descending order and both replies sorted under the original message are replies indeed, the sorting order is correct. Descending. First the newer reply, then the older reply. :-) It used to confuse me, too, but its correct. Switch to an ascending sort order to avoid this confusion (and IMHO, an ascending sort order is much more logical when you look at the thread). [I'm assuming that you're viewing your inbox, or the inbox-known folder, with threading enabled (because thats the most likely explanation of a reply being shown under a message from the same person). I find it rather irritating to look at threads that way. If you want to track PM conversations visibly with threading, you could set up a VF that watches both the inbox and your sent mail folder and shows the results in threads - that way you see the original message, your own reply, the next reply etc. threaded nicely as the conversation took place] I move everything to a common inbox. I am also sorted by reference+subject I really don't want to sort ascending but I may experiment with your VF suggestion Thanks -- Rick The Bat Version 3.96.8 (BETA) Current beta is 3.96.07 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/
