Cosmetic

2007-03-02 Thread Gunivortus Goos

Hi Maxim,

just a minor cosmetic item, not a new one, I wrote it you
about a year ago.

When exiting TB, the small progress window appears.
The upper progress line is working fine, the lower one,
which should show the overall progress is filled completely
at once and stays until the exit. So, no overall progress
can be observed.

Re: Again: lost folders in folder-list!

2007-03-02 Thread Martin Sebald
Hi Alexander!

I will do so. Although I don't have much faith that something is
happening because of this entry into bugtracker.
Have you removed the old config files from your account directory? Maybe
TB mistakenly used your old folder config file for whatever reason (which
 surely is a bug).

No not yet. I don't have much time left right now. When I'm at home I'm
still working on my server. This is also the reason why I transfered TB to
my Vista notebook for a while...

Were it always the same folders disappearing?

No. Randomly any folder was/could be affected.

You should post the URL to the BT entry here so that those who confirmed
it (Alto and Mark IIRC) can easily add their confirmations to it.

Good point! :-)

2007-03-02 Thread Martin Sebald
Hi Miguel!

I'm wondering if your lost folders could be a consequence of this.
Hmmm, I don't think so. As you see above the procedure is very easy to
 handle.
Anyway, if I was you (and if you can live with it), I wouldn't do any
'synchronization' for a while and see if TB looses any folders then.

I had to because I still have some work to do on the server. Because of
this I had to transfer TB to my Vista notebook for a while.

Hi Alexander!

Thank you for that link. I will go through this when I have some time
 and passion left. ;-)
Well, given your passionate :-) posts here, there should be plenty! ;-)

*fg*

Time is always a problem here and cannot be solved by new TB versions. ;-)
But I will have a look at this site and delete the old files. Two reasons:
First because I don't want to have trash on my hard drive and second to be
sure that this is not the reason for this lost folder thing.

Interesting. I tried again and this time it worked.

Had the same problem with version 3.98.1 yesterday. I tried this version 4
or 5 times and it never worked and just produced 99% cpu in task manager.

Now I reinstalled 3.98.2.2, started it, it worked. I quit TB and started it
again - did not work... Then I restarted TB several times (4-5) and it
always worked. Strange...

I have created reply to HTML message and when I try to select text by
doubleclick in table with original text, it doesn't work. When I try select
text outside this table it works and when I try it in table, it started
working too

Re: Common folders filter and SmartSpace

2007-03-02 Thread Sebastian Murawski
Hello TheBat Beta List Members!!!

Someday, and that was in Friday evening, Vili wrote something like
this:
In TB I have some filters for common folders that park read message
when that message is reply for my previous message. And now, when
you move to another message through cursor or mouse click, message
is correct parked, but when you use SmartSpace feature message is
 not parked.
When someone can confirm this behavior, please create bug report
and I confirm this. My English is to bad to explain authors this
 bug.
This is a good enough description of the bug, so you can report it.
Some guys sometimes use strange characters on the bug track to
describe their problems, Ritlabs understands them also.

OK, I wait for confirmation. I think it easy to test.

When I chose text in an HTML message, hit F4, reply contained no text.
when I changed to plain text, selected text appeared as expected.

When I switched default to windows editor, still had same problem with
text chosen in HTML message.

Sorry I didn't even notice that you were talking about Firefox rather
than TB. Duh! Yes, it could be related to Firefox, because I do use FF
and it is at version 2.0.0.2. So maybe that *is* the explanation.

Re: The Bat! 3.98.02

2007-03-02 Thread Martin Sebald
Hi Simon!

It's interesting that not many people seem to be affected by this Vista
 problem.
Are many people running Vista though? :)

Hm, good point. ;-)

Not really Beta related, but how are you finding it with your apps and
 hardware?  I don't know if you have seen the BBC website article here;
makes interesting reading for folks considering Vista -:
 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/6407419.stm
We've had a number of test units running at the office with Vista
installations both Beta and Release it's been a mixed bag of joy, pain
and disaster! One thing is clear, the Microsoft Upgrade Adviser cannot
be trusted, very often no=yes and yes=no :)

Well, really bit of off-topic, but interesting anyway.

Looking at all pros and cons I'm happy with Vista.

Vista takes a lot of hardware. My notebook is a Pentium M 740 (Centrino)
with 1.73GHz and 1GB of RAM. Starting Vista without any programs installed
takes 540MB of RAM. Now with all applications installed it takes a bit more
(startup stuff etc pp) and the system partition with 15GB is nearly full. I
suggest 20GB as system partition of you don't use it for My document or
stuff like TB data files.

It recognized most of my hardware on install, the rest excluding the card
reader (I used the HP driver for that) was recognized after the first
Windows Update. On my client it did not recognize a Adaptec 2940U (!) and a
Creative Soundblaster Live! Audigy. I did not try to get drivers for this
(working on my server takes a lot of time...) but it did confuse me. Most
of all the Adaptec 2940U. I need this thing because of the expensive HP
scanner I'm running with this card.

Look and feel is great, I also like the new security stuff. You work as a
normal user now and if a program needs administrative rights a check box
appears.

Games seem to be a problem, but Quake 3 Arena runs. ;-) And I don't need
anything more. Also the 64 bit version seems to be a problem, too. Lack of
drivers.

What I'm really having problems with are the PC-Card cards I'm running.
Most of them don't work anymore. No drivers. But I think this will be
solved in the next weeks/months.

I also installed Office 2007 but did not use it exept opening and printing
existing documents (Word and Excel). This really looks strange but all
people tell me that for beginners it has a lot of advantages. For me as a
Office since Word 6.0 user it looks very confusing.
